Bishop Robinson enters civil union
Manchester Union Leader ^ | June 8, 2008

Posted on 06/08/2008 2:41:08 AM PDT by billorites

Gene Robinson, New Hampshire's Episcopal bishop, entered into a civil union yesterday with his partner of 20 years, Mark Andrew, according to WMUR-TV.

The ceremony, held at St. Paul Church, coincided with the fifth anniversary of Robinson's election as the nation's first openly gay Episcopal bishop.

The state Legislature passed a law last year allowing gay couples to enter civil unions; the law took effect Jan. 1.

In an interview last month on NBC's "The Today Show," Robinson said the decision to enter into a civil union came after he received death threats about his decision to attend the Lambeth Conference of Anglican bishops this summer, despite a decision by church leaders not to invite him to participate.

"I am simply not going to put my life in jeopardy without putting into place the protections for my beloved partner and my children and my grandchildren that are offered to me in a civil union," Robinson told Lauer.

According to a report by Religion News Service, Robinson and Andrew had planned to hold their civil union ceremony on the steps of the state Capitol, but "security concerns" prompted them to move it indoors.

Lots of people are smitten by the charisma of B. Hussein Obama also. Many Germans thought Hitler was a paragon of virtue. We are even told that Satan himself may appear as an “angel of light.”

I believe this is one area where Darwinists and Creationists are in absolute agreement.

The only explanation for this unnatural behavior, is that the Devil devised a plan to extinguish the human species.

This piece of sophistry is an obvious play for sympathy by a totally self-centered man who thinks his personal gratification is worth the destruction of his denomination.

How is it that a priest is gay? What about that whole Sodom and Gomorrah being destroyed thing? The Anglican Church must be very “tolerant”.

I would be careful about what I tolerated though. After all, Sodom And Gomorrah, wasn’t.

Everyone who has met Gene Robinson thinks he’s a great guy.

The 'bishop' may be the 'female' half of this 'partnership.'

No true Christian would condone this blasphemy of an ordination by remaining. It would amount to an endorsement and blatant disregard of God's word that certainly covers homosexual activity and the perverted way they achieve their disgusting orgasms!

The word of the day for those who would receive communion from the hands of this pervert is: FLEE!

That is the right spirit. God says love the sinner and hate the sin. But (being a sinner myself just not gay) I have a hard time doing that. Maybe I'm homophobic but some things a person just don't do and a priest has no business doing this.

That is the right spirit. God says love the sinner and hate the sin.

Indeed. But there is also a matter of repentance involved.

Paul wrote:

Romans 1: 18The wrath of God is being revealed from heaven against all the godlessness and wickedness of men who suppress the truth by their wickedness, 19since what may be known about God is plain to them, because God has made it plain to them. 20For since the creation of the world God's invisible qualities—his eternal power and divine nature—have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so that men are without excuse.

21For although they knew God, they neither glorified him as God nor gave thanks to him, but their thinking became futile and their foolish hearts were darkened. 22Although they claimed to be wise, they became fools 23and exchanged the glory of the immortal God for images made to look like mortal man and birds and animals and reptiles.

24Therefore God gave them over in the sinful desires of their hearts to sexual impurity for the degrading of their bodies with one another. 25They exchanged the truth of God for a lie, and worshiped and served created things rather than the Creator—who is forever praised. Amen.

26Because of this, God gave them over to shameful lusts. Even their women exchanged natural relations for unnatural ones. 27In the same way the men also abandoned natural relations with women and were inflamed with lust for one another. Men committed indecent acts with other men, and received in themselves the due penalty for their perversion.

28Furthermore, since they did not think it worthwhile to retain the knowledge of God, he gave them over to a depraved mind, to do what ought not to be done. 29They have become filled with every kind of wickedness, evil, greed and depravity. They are full of envy, murder, strife, deceit and malice. They are gossips, 30slanderers, God-haters, insolent, arrogant and boastful; they invent ways of doing evil; they disobey their parents; 31they are senseless, faithless, heartless, ruthless. 32Although they know God's righteous decree that those who do such things deserve death, they not only continue to do these very things but also approve of those who practice them.

Death threats? Produce one. How come these guys always claim to “have received threats” but are never asked to produce the evidence? What a drama queen.

We are called to love the sinner but to hate the sin.

However his homosexuality is NOT what made his elevation to ECUSA Bishop so wrong. He violated, as a priest, his sacramental marriage vows and this was known and accepted by the Episcopal hierarchy at the time of his being elevated to the office of Bishop.

This so-called "bishop" not only openly practices homosexuaity, he admits committing adultery against his wife before leaving her for this man. How any church could ordain such a selfish and Godless man is beyond me. And I am an Episcopalian.

There is no such thing as Christian Church with gay bishop
There is no such thing as gay marriage.
It is simply a contradiction in terms and thus a misuse of language.

You can’t marry your widows sister.
