In case you missed it ... the P-I's politics blog has posted on an online rumor: Open Left reported last week that Sen. Patty Murray (D-WA), an early supporter of Hillary Clinton, has been approached as a possible vice presidential running mate for Sen. Barack Obama.
Open Left cites a "trusted inside source" and writes:
Murray was first elected to the Senate in Washington State in 1992, the "year of the woman" in the U.S. Senate. Murray would be a reinforcing pick for Barack Obama in that she is one of the few sitting Senators or Governors who opposed the Iraq war from the start, voting against the Authorization for the Use of Military Force against Iraq. back in October of 2002. Murray also mirrors Obama in that, before her career in electoral politics, she was a citizen activist and community organizer on environmental and educational issues.
Barry got the ears, Patty got the voice.
Ooohh, yes, please, please, please. She’d be an even worse choice than our idiot governor, Kathleen Sebilius.
Bill Richardson the Governor of NM. He’s friends with Tobey Keith so TK might even endorse them.

Also, the popular Murray gave a speech before or after 9—11 hailing Osama bin Laden for his intrastructure improvements in the Middle East.

A more likely scenario would be Democrat Kansas Governor Kathleen Sebelius. She was one of the bigwhigs at the super secret confab this weekend at the Westfields Marriott hotel in Chantilly, Virginia (which also just happens to be the real location where Obama & Clinton had their little confab).

Reportedly (or perhaps just an Urban Legend) has Patty Murray being voted, repeatedly, by Congressional Staffer as the Dumbest of all 100 Senators...considering the competition that is quite a title.
Patty has miserably failed the people of Washington State; she does nothing proactively, but rathers cashes-in after the fact by holding hearing which provides her cheap sound bites.
“Trusted source” really means the campaign is putting this out to see the reaction.

I’ve heard that theres one group that does this survey of senators and asks these basic questions like which senator has the best sense of humor, which senator is the best singer, etc., questions like that. Patty Murray has always won the lets just say “a few french fries short of a happy meal” award among her peers. She’s dumber than a box of rocks. She the one who said Bin Laden was popular because he opening day care centers for muslims.

Murray has been declared "least intelligent Senator" by the group that does that. She ran as the "Mom in tennis shoes" and was also known as Osama Mama for explaining that Bin Laden had support in the Arab world because of his good works, building hospitals and day care centers...and that we were too ignorant to know that.
