The End of Greenism?
Family Security Matters ^ | June 10, 2008 | Raymond Kraft

Posted on 06/10/2008 5:06:54 AM PDT by captjanaway

It hasn't quite hit the radar of the liberals in Congress, but as the price of gasoline soars above $4 a gallon (and here in California it's closing in on $5), they're going to be facing a hard choice with no good options. They will be forced to (a) throw the Greens under the bus, and embrace the idea of drilling for oil in America, in ANWR, off the coasts, wherever it may be found, or (b) throw the U.S. economy under the bus, andlose the November election to a Republican landslide, no matter who their candidate is.

If, that is,John McCain can be persuaded to see the light, come to his senses, and make a prime time speech in which he apologizes for being wrong about global warming and climate change, has learned that CO2 is not the enemy, that humans have no identifiable effect on climate, which has always been changing, and humans cannot stop it; and that it is far more important to produce enough energy from all sources, nuclear, geothermal, solar, wind, oil, and coal, than to go tilting at the windmills of Greenism to stop the unstoppableclimate change, which is entirely natural and organic.

“the end of greenism?”

the real question: “the end of psychotic, power-hungry, self-appointed intellectual, democrat punks in power?”

They have chosen to commit suicide—tax the sh*t out of domestic oil, raise the price to $10, and steal the oil companies profits to force them to pay for golf carts.

“throw the Greens under the bus, and embrace the idea of drilling for oil in America,”

The writer assumes that a majority of Americans can rationally piece together A (democrats have no energy policy) and B (so you are paying more for gas) to arrive at C (therefore, throw democrats out of poffice).

Too much logic required. Sorry. “Bush is a Nazi” and “AMERIKKKA evil” is easier for simpletons to understand.

The problem is John McCain isn't the kind of man who will stand up to the Left's agenda. He certainly isn't opposing their destructive Green policies.

Rep. Mike Honda (D-Calif.) replied, "No," adding that he would "never say never," but that circumstances would have to be "pretty drastic" for him to agree to more drilling. "I am more concerned about global warming and the impact of fossil fuel," he said.

Democrats. Always looking out for the little man.

Absolutely. This will be the Republicans path to victory. DRILL HERE, DRILL NOW, PAY LESS. This should be their mantra every day and drive it home to the lefties who want us all riding bicycles. China is drilling off our coasts but we can’t. So if they are doing it without harm to the coatal waters, WHY AREN’T WE? ANWAR is the same. We HAVE to have more supply if this country is to survive. Truckers should now be diehard Republicans because it’s the Dems who got us here. Clinton vetoed ANWR drilling in 1994 because he said it would take ten years to get that oil. Well, DUH, that would have been 2004. We would have had that oil now. Prices would be been down at least some. The fact that we are dependent on foreign oil is killing us. We must get our own oil here and now.

I'm worried he is going to try to out-green them.

The truth of the matter is that these corrupt elected officials will be dealt with in a very crude manner by "we the people" when the bottom falls out.

When the dishonesty of the new religion of Global Warming scammers is realized for what it is ...as the home of communists & socialists ... along with the anti American groups, the P/C crowd, the anti Christian disciples, and the anything goes adherents, the rest of us will be forced to hunt them down and be done with them.

It's either that, or we will be hunted down by them, and done away with.

Time to take a stand, or perish.

In finishing up “Liberal Fascism”, Goldberg makes the point that the “fascistas” need to use the concept of “war socialism” in order to get everyone to give up their individuality and work toward the common goal.

Since real war gets pretty messy, they frame their grand schemes in warlike terms, including environmentalism and global warming. This is the REAL agenda behind these movements - socialism/fascism.

It’s also why they despise the “war on terror” - Bush is not making the move to use the war on terror to implement domestic collectivism. This is what is behind the left decrying the “lack of sacrifice” on the part of the American citizens.

The best TV ad the Republicans could run would show ever increasing gas prices followed by a view of the Chinese oil rig drilling off the Florida coast with a voice over “...why can the Chinese drill for oil off our coasts and we cannot?”

“The truth of the matter is that these corrupt elected officials will be dealt with in a very crude manner by “we the people” when the bottom falls out.”

I do not think enough Americans have the gonads to do this any more.

Too many of them are standing in line waiting for their next Government check or handout or are waiting and lobbying for their “piece” to be delivered to them by the Government.

On the same note, the Senate just voted no on another bill to allow drilling in ANWR.

(b) throw the U.S. economy under the bus, andlose the November election to a Republican landslide, no matter who their candidate is.

C. Throw the US economy under the bus and win anyway because the Republican party is busy throwing itself under the bus. Other than "not the Democrats" I haven't heard of a single reason from the Republicans why I should vote for them.

All of the strong ideas for the future appear to be coming from outside the Republican party (Newt's "Drill Here, Drill Now", Linder's and Boortz's Fair Tax, the Minutemen's border patrolling) and will have to be crammed down the party's throats to save the party.

bill and hill were nothing but string puppets, doing the incremental deeds necessary for the furtherance of international goals. (and still are.)

the international left is gearing up for an orgasm of power in anticipation of an obama win, the continuation of bill and hill. (they are such scu&bags.)

imho

I have wondered why Bush didn’t sign an executive order authorizing drilling in ANWAR, and then challenging congress to shoot his order down. This would let the people know who is causing the problem.

Will he say the same thing after he has been voted out of office?

why can the Chinese drill for oil off our coasts and we cannot?”

And the Democrats would soon run an ad pointing out it was Jeb Bush and President Bush who stopped oil drilling in the Florida Gulf! John McCain voted against drilling in ANWAR!

The Republicans, with their run to the middle, have, once again, found themselves in a position that they will be unable to take advantage of the current energy situation because they have acted no better than the Democrats.

Energy independence is a conservative issue - not a Republican issue.

You are, of course, correct.

I am reminded of the scant support of the people in the American Revolution, and that it succeed.

A long shot to be sure, but one we will have to take, none the less.

Okay, McCain's no punk. But, he supports enviropunk views. Yesterday decided he was going to tell business executives how much they can make and prosecute them for... what?... opposing McCain's world view?

McCain pledged that if elected he would push to let shareholders curb the pay of CEOs and unleash federal prosecutors to punish wrongdoing by corporate chieftains.

Source

What exactly does it take for you to consider someone a "punk?"

What do you call someone who is anti-capitalist?

And yes, Obama appears to be a full fledged Marxist, but he's a Democrat, not the standard bearer of the party of Reagan (or what's left of it).

Given the choice between a socialist and a Marxist, I choose "none of the above." I've held my nose during every presidential election since 1984. This time, I might as well hold my nose and vote Libertarian since I can't hold it tight enough to cover the stench from McCain. He may not be a punk, but he still stinks of socialism.

“he may not be a punk but he still stinks of socialism..”

agreed. very disheartening. he seems to have treated the democrats as victims and “reached out to them” or maybe he is stockholm syndrome material.

in any event, a mccain presidency would be more palatable than a clinton-repeat or obama presidency. with the latter, one can be assured of socialist thugs running roughshod over the constitution and worse.

IMHO

What if we get the same or nearly the same from McCain? Just look at McCain Feingold. The man shows little respect for the Constitution in his actions.

His VP pick will be telling. If he picks a center left veep (e.g., Lieberman), I'm out of the party.
