The Provincial High Court of Madrid has decided to judge four high rank officers of the [Spanish] Police, among them, the general inspector of the Scientific Police Miguel Ángel Santano, for the so-called "boric acid case" on the presumed manipulation of a forensic report that linked ETA to the brutal attacks of 3/11. The court, presided by Judge Alberto Jorge Barreiro, thus misestimates to apply "the Botín doctrine" as it was asked in the previous phase by the Office of the Public Prosecutor, the State attorney and the defence of the indicted ones.

According to the popular accusation, the indicted ones allegedly ordered to correct in a fraudulent way a report that linked the finding of boric acid in the home of an indicted in the 3/11 case, Hassan el Haski, to the terror organization ETA, removing any reference to the terror group.

I hope they don't end like Supreme Court Judge García-Calvo.
The Botín doctrine says that only individuals can exert the private accusation. In Spain, where the Prosecutors and State attorneys are appointed directly by the State and follow its orders just like soldiers, the praised figure of the private accusation provides one of the few ways the citizens can act in cases like this. Limiting it, it effectively weakens the Democracy and forces individuals to directly accuse powerful figures, not through an association like in this case, which might trigger retaliatory measures.
ping!
Thanks for your good work. Only the Spanish can decide whether they really want to keep these corrupt socialists in office. But it’s good to know that a few people there are still trying to uncover the truth.
Just as much as I hope for the judge’s safety, in a way I hope for the safety of these ‘police’ officers. I hope they are physically safe as they are pressured for information. I’m sure they must know some interesting things.
Indeed, the responsible for all what it is happening is the Spanish people. There has been a great debate in some right wing forums on whether the majority of Spaniards are still sociologically Francoist and this is part of the problem.
However, please take into account that the Socialist are the political puppets of an oligarchy that controls all the mass media in Spain: for many Spaniards, maybe 25-35%, Judge García-Calvo will always be the right winger who opposed the Socialist reforms and aimed at a regular citizen with a gun during a traffic argument and they will never know that the report was never confirmed and that the “regular” citizen was convicted for burglary.
Only Internet is allowing some flux of free information in a situation that is far worse than Franco’s.
Santano, Manzano, Gómez-Menor, Castaño... all high rank police officers involved in the 3/11 investigations, all probably the terminals inside the Spanish National Police of a greater structure.
For instance, Telesforo Rubio, a colleague, was forced to resing after someone inside his unit leaked information to ETA, which it seems to be just another branch of that same structure.
Just to show the situation in Spain, this case is under no-investigation by judge Garzón, a pro-Socialist one. No-investigation means that the case is under investigation but no tasks are carried out, therefore it is effectively stopped. Of course, the MSM says nothing about it.
Well, so much for putting pressure on the police.
