Jim Geraghty takes a look at longstanding blog buzz over Barack Obama’s birth certificate, which the campaign refused to release to the St. Petersburg Times in April:
We tried to obtain a copy of Obama’s birth certificate, but his campaign would not release it and the state of Hawaii does not make such records public.
Has anyone seen it? Why shouldn’t the record be in the public domain for presidential candidates?
Geraghty walks through various rumors now circulating in the wake of the Obama campaign’s birth certificate blackout, including this one:
Rumor Three: His mother did not want to name him after his father, and his birth certificate says “Barry.” Perhaps the most plausible of the rumors, as Obama was known by that name through much of his childhood and young adulthood. If true, this would spur a new round of “When Barry Became Barack” stories – a minor headache for the campaign, but hardly a major scandal.
Lest the Obama campaign start whining about this issue being an unfair “distraction,” John McCain underwent intense scrutiny of his citizenship status because of his birth in the Panama Canal zone, leading the Senate to declare him a natural-born citizen in April.

What is good for the goose, is good for the gander. But the libs always survive from the benefits of an UNLEVEL playing field — this issue is no exception. IMHO, if Hussein cannot verify his birth records, he should be disqualified from running for President.
From something I read somewhere (I have no idea if it’s true) there was a question not as to his name but as to his place of birth. They speculated that he was born in Kenya. Again, take that with a large grain of salt.
I think it’s the last name that’s problematic. Originally it was OBombThem.

If, OTOH, as some assert and as some newspapers in Kenya reported, he was born in Kenya and then spirited off to the US...that is another matter. But that will be difficult if not impossible to prove and will lead to a lot of heavy blow back by the DNC, the MSM, and all his adoring idolaters.

IMO, the answer to fighting Liberals is to use their tactics back on them in every sense of the word fight. They attack Conservatives from the gutter using gutter tactics. I say climb in the gutter with them and fight on an even playing field. Republicans are eunuchs when it comes to fighting Liberals. Those days have to be over. We are now fighting for our country, our security, our economy, our freedoms, our future as a free nation.
We have brave Americans fighting in Iraq and Afganistan; putting their lives on the line to protect America. The very least we can do is protect America from our enemies within and that includes members of Congress who are proven traitors. Sorry, if that sounds harsh. My curiosity is that some (most?) birth certificates list a person's religion and his might list his at the time as "Mooslimb" which WOULD cause him some problems.

I don’t know about anyone else, but my birth certificate from Chicago lists my parents race and religion. My guess it states at least one of his parents as muslim or islam.
Her refusal to release them makes me think there could be something out there with legs.
If he was indeed born of a virgin as most Obamanuts believe, then they are waiting to October to reveal it.

Maybe it doesn’t exist, which might be problematic since we are then asked to take him at his word that he was born in Hawaii.
Truer words have never been typed. The challenge for the beast is to make sure her fingerprints are nowhere to be found.

I learned at age 30 that my legal mother was not my biological mother when I needed my birth certificate to get a passport.
What his parents did should cast no shadow on the man. He couldn’t choose them.
His birth certificate probably says, Barack Mohammed Hussein Obama, Muslim. That’s why he won’t release it.

Since Hawaii was a US territory in 1959, his citizenship would still not be in question. Barry Goldwater ran for president and he was born in the Arizona territory.
It wouldn't be difficult to learn the fact, but producing some evidence would be the hurdle. Clerks and bureaucrats at all levels have access to records like birth certificates. They can easily view them, just not release them.
That said, I'm skeptical. He would have had to produce a birth certificate to obtain a passport which he would need to travel internationally. He has travelled as a Senator, hasn't he?
Maybe it has the word “Phillipines” whited out and “Hawaii” written over it. And the name of the mother is someone who’s not an American citizen.
