That’s what I read.
Yesterday we ate at Applebees. They couldn’t serve the bruschetta burger because they said they weren’t serving tomatoes because of the salmonella problem. But, my salad came out with little cherry tomatoes in it. So, what’s the deal with that?

What do you want to bet that the bad tomatoes will turn out to be from Mexico?I agree. Those in the industry think so. So for the USA to punish American producers shows just how deeply corrupt the Administration has become for its NAU agenda...and that any criticism of Mexico is "Politically Incorrect."

The canner probably has all that it can handle at this time.
It reminds me of 9/11, we had a couple hundred tons of watermelons ready to go out and after that the world stopped and we had to dump them all.

The website for the USDA and other posts on FR verify that. Also cherry tomatoes are OK.

Washing tomatoes well should take care of the salmonella problem. However, your tomatoes will have much better flavor if you don’t refrigerate them. Even cut tomatoes can be kept overnight, cut side down on a plate, unrefrigerated.

Yes, I normally let tomatoes stand at room temp, but for the duration of this scare, refrigeration is recommended to cut possible bacteria growth. Just cleared off a shelf this morning, in fact.

John Galt is one of the main characters in Ayn Rand's novel Atlas Shrugged. An engineer by trade, Galt is the male hero of the story.

Does salmonella live under the skin of a tomato for cryin’ out loud? Shut down the entire tomato industry because we are too stupid to wash them before we eat them? This entire story smells funny.
To: NoGrayZone
No, I didn't catch El Rushbo, but the RATS have inspired me to go after all the BIGS out there.
