Dragged Kicking and Screaming, Tancredo Will Pull Lever for McCain
ABC News ^ | June 10, 2008 | Jake Tapper

Posted on 06/10/2008 5:41:41 PM PDT by 2ndDivisionVet

Rep. Tom Tancredo, R-Colo., has reluctantly come to the conclusion that he will have to vote for Sen. John McCain, R-Ariz., whose immigration reform bill Tancredo blasted as amnesty.

"Sometimes I say to myself, 'Can I really do this?'" Tancredo said of voting for McCain, according to the Rocky Mountain News. "And then you listen to Obama or Hillary and say, 'Yeah, I have to.'"

At a debate last October Tancredo sounded less sure of such an idea.

"You know, I've said I don't know how many times, that I am absolutely tired and sick and tired of being forced to go to the polls and say I'm going to make this choice between the lesser of two evils. I really don't intend to do that again. I am hoping, of course, that whoever we nominate will be the principled flag carrier for the Republican Party. But if that is not the case, no, then I will not support them."

Tancredo told the News he couldn't vote for Libertarian presidential candidate Bob Barr, who has similar views as he does on immigration, because Barr has "a blind spot on radical Islam."

I am trying NOT to think about voting for President in November right now. Luckily, I get to vote for two voting Conservatives- John Carter and John Cornyn.

I wholeheartedly agree with Tancredo about immigration. He, at least, knows and admits the expenses throughout his district with illegals is breaking down America daily as well as costing everyone for the benefit of a few.

I obviously understand why some of you people think you HAVE to vote for McPainintheass, but what you fail to recognize is McPita is no better than Obama because he's a liberal coddler. He destroys the republicans from within, which inturns means he destroys the country because all you'll end up having to always vote for are Rinos, moderates, and liberals because there will be no conservative to choose from.

IS THIS WHAT YOU REALLY WANT????

You are leaving CONgre$$, why not just remain silent and vote anyway you want in the privacy of the voting booth?

Campaign "bribes" exceed a billion dollars, and the average person is a non player in such high stakes. The global financial syndicates control who you get to vote for, and they don't give a rat's ass what you want. Don't look for any change. Like in "The Planet of the Apes," not human entities control everything.

In a word, NO! It is not what I want, but nothing that has happened since the beginning of the primaries has been what I want. I don’t think the outcome of it has been what anybody wanted, at least not enough to justify who won. I truly have not decided what I will do on election day when it comes to the Presidential ballot. I will in the meantime, if and when I can with gas prices and everything else so high, support the most conservative people running for Congress. And vote the the same way, if there are any on the ballot.

I watched Israel go through this last election after Sharon started wearing a skirt for the liberals under threat of jail time for his sons.

After a horrendous betrayal to the conservatives, in protest a lot of them did not vote the next election.

As a result, the liberals took the country in a cake walk election and have destroyed most checks and balances against them. They are literally giving the conservatives homes to the enemy to destroy the conservative voting base once and for all.

It is a disaster of epic proportions. Now they wish they could go back and vote, but its too late. Omert and his crew have raped, pillaged and divided up what is left of the goobermint.

IF YOU FAIL TO VOTE, YOU WILL NOT FAIL TO REAP THE REWARD OF LIBERAL MASTERS WITH NO CONTROLS...

VOTE, PLEASE!

The Republican Party survived the liberal/moderate wing running it during Nixon/Ford and the Bushes. It's gone conservative with Eisenhower and Reagan. It will bounce back from McCain.

HOWEVER, if Obama becomes President, there will be no undoing nationalized healthcare, repealing the Fairness Doctrine, or reversing the nationalization of the oil companies. This FDR but with an extremely Marxist bent.

Some things are bigger than just a Party.

And McPita is better than Obama how? Tell me what do you think McPita, after stabbing you in the back, is going to do different than Obama? You already know what Obama's going to do, what about McPita?

How do you think McPita's going to screw you like he's done every conservative and this country thus far?

Go ahead stick with rino and be with the minority for 40 more years as the country has no chance for recovery.

Every one of us has to decide within our hearts who we will vote for in November: I wouldn’t presume to tell you how to use your franchise, bought & paid for with the blood, wounds, injuries and anguish of millions of Soldiers, Sailors, Airmen, Marines, Coastguardsmen and other patriots. All I know is that I cannot let our troops be saddled with 4-8 years of Mr. Obama.

I see where you're going and it is a fair point. However, If we 'support' McCain then we support rino/moderates who do the same thing as Obama will do. I say vote for a conservative, vote for conservatives locally, and let McCain try to tread on his own. He's going to get the fense sitters anyway, most likely.

You’ll take the known and larger evil - and are ready to watch our military and country be destroyed. This isn’t 1976 anymore, we can’t afford four years of Carter, our enemies aren’t waiting anymore. In fact, they are endorsing Obama openly.

Vote for the conservative in each race; I agree. In the race for the Presidency, that's McCain, not Obama.

The time to fight for the most conservative candidate is during the primaries; after that, it's a fight for the most conservative candidate. That may not be conservative enough for you or me, but it's better than the alternative.

4 years of Obama (Hopefully not) this country will spew this marxist out like sour milk!

And the programs created? When was a Government program killed? Especially something as big as nationalization of healthcare and the oil industries. If that happens, it's all over - the Government would get another 27% of the GDP. Add that to the current 21%, and essentially the Government DIRECTLY controls 48% of the GDP.

There's no way coming back from that, short of a revolution or civil war, both of which I would not wish on this nation at nearly any cost.

No, take the hand we're dealt now, vote for the candidate who will at least support our military, vote against increasing taxes, and supports nuclear energy. And work the next 4 years to build up a conservative candidate.
