SCOTUS Ruling Proves Liberalism is all Emotion, No Brains

Warner Todd Houston did a great job covering this earlier so I won’t post all the details again, but I wanted to share a portion of my post illustrating the emotion that is liberalism…no brains.

Wanna see what I mean?

People for the American Way:

One more Bush Justice on the Court, and the decision would likely have gone the other way. That’s why it’s so important for Americans to realize that in this election year, the Supreme Court is on the ballot. John McCain has already promised the GOP that he would nominate Justices to the Court exactly like those Bush has brought to the bench. This year, we must reverse the tide, and begin to restore a Supreme Court that upholds our individual rights and the laws that keep us free. (emphasis added)

That’s right, they are OUR rights…they keep America free. Not UNLAWFUL, ENEMY COMBATANT, TERRORISTS. How much evidence and common sense is it going to take to get through the emotion of liberals?

I’m afraid that all things considered, I have to agree with the SCOTUS on this, for several reasons.

To start with, there was no good reason for the military or the CIA to take these murderous savages “home” to Gitmo. For this reason I suspect that Gitmo was, from the very start, a Potemkin village. Its real purpose was to distract the troublemakers, lawyers, and politicians who would want to interfere. To give them a decoy to attack.

And it served that function very well. They spent endless amounts of time, effort, energy and money to attack Gitmo, and accomplished nothing.

Several nations offered us the use of their territory, to do what we wanted to do with captured terrorists, no questions asked. I think that it is highly unlikely that the prisoners in those countries gained weight, became bored, and otherwise just sat in their cells all day like the prisoners at Gitmo did. We never seemed to actually *do* anything to the Gitmo prisoners. Notice that?

Importantly, according to the Geneva Conventions, we could have instantly killed *all* of the terrorists we captured, without violating any treaty particular. We could have shot them execution style, or whatever. Perfectly legal. And some of the nastier ones in Afghanistan, the CIA did rather painfully execute early on, packing them in hot metal shipping containers for several hundred mile journeys.

So the bottom line is now that much of the WoT is winding down, do we really need Gitmo any more? Probably not. But it would be good to have an excuse to shut it down. An excuse the SCOTUS has now provided.

Importantly, this may not mean that any of these SOBs are going to be tried anytime soon. Hopefully, we will send them to foreign countries where they will be immediately, if discreetly, executed. The bulk of them we should have done that to a long time ago.

It wasn’t emotion, it was a pure old “HATE BUSH” slap in the face.Libralism is a mental disease even in the Supreme Court of The United States.

The first thing that needs to be recognized is that the liberals, especially the liberal activists in the judiciary, are never right about anything. They couldn’t care less about the (non-existent) rights of these terrorist POWs. They simply see an opportunity to tear down the president and undermine the war effort.

It is about ensuring the third branch of gov’t supercedes the other two. What was the power of the President and Congress has now been snatched away. Maybe it is time to snatch it back.

What metrics are you using to come up with this statement?

You hit the nail on the head. That's exactly what they're doing.

Please, PLEASE don’t stay home in November; come out and vote AGAINST BARACK HUSSEIN OBAMA! We won’t take it as a vote for McCain. We know better.

How many divisions does the Supreme Court have?
