Obama's Abortion Bombshell: Unrestricted Abortion....

WASHINGTON, D.C., June 10, 2008 (LifeSiteNews.com) - Barack Obama, the presumptive pro-abortion nominee of the Democratic Party, has plans to reward the allies that helped him topple Hillary Clinton from her throne by making total unrestricted abortion in the United States his number one priority as president.

In light of Obama's recently achieved status as the presumptive Democratic presidential nominee, Focus on the Family's CitizenLink has decided to remind its supporters that almost one year has passed since Obama made his vows to the Planned Parenthood Action Fund that abortion would be the first priority of his administration.

"The first thing I'd do as president is sign the Freedom of Choice Act," Obama said in his July speech to abortion advocates worried about the increase of pro-life legislation at the state level.

The Freedom of Choice Act (FOCA) is legislation Obama has co-sponsored along with 18 other senators that would annihilate every single state law limiting or regulating abortion, including the federal ban on partial birth abortion.

The 2007 version of FOCA proposed: "It is the policy of the United States that every woman has the fundamental right to choose to bear a child, to terminate a pregnancy prior to fetal viability, or to terminate a pregnancy after fetal viability when necessary to protect the life or health of the woman."

Obama made his remarks in a question-and-answer session after delivering a speech crystallizing for abortion advocates his deep-seated abortion philosophy and his belief that federal legislation will break pro-life resistance and end the national debate on abortion. (see transcript: http://lauraetch.googlepages.com/barackobamabeforeplannedpar...)

"I am absolutely convinced that culture wars are so nineties; their days are growing dark, it is time to turn the page," Obama said in July. "We want a new day here in America. We're tired about arguing about the same ole' stuff. And I am convinced we can win that argument."

Besides making abortion on demand a "fundamental right" throughout the United States, FOCA would effectively nullify informed consent laws, waiting periods, health safety regulations for abortion clinics, etc.

Furthermore, medical professionals and institutions that refused abortions also would lose legal protections. FOCA would expose individuals, organizations, and governments - including federal, state, and local government agencies - to costly civil actions for purported violations of the act.

"Thirty-five years after Roe, abortion supporters, like Senator Obama, are dismayed that abortion remains a divisive issue and that their radical agenda has not been submissively accepted by the American public," states Denise M. Burke, vice president of Americans United for Life.

"Rather than confronting legitimate issues concerning the availability and safety of abortion, they choose to blatantly ignore the concerns and interests of everyday Americans, as well as the growing evidence that abortion hurts women."

Hillary Clinton, once the longtime Democratic front-runner and anticipated abortion president, conceded defeat last Saturday to Obama, who captured the nomination from her after a long and bitter campaign.

Obama has won the crucial endorsement of abortion activist Frances Kissling, who broke from the ranks of other radical feminist leaders earlier this year to endorse Obama, saying Obama, not Clinton, would better use the bully pulpit of the presidency to accomplish their aims and end the culture wars over abortion.

“by making total unrestricted abortion in the United States his number one priority as president.”

Unrestricted Huh?

Does that mean we can wait say 46 years to abort?

Since Jesus especially loves little children, I would expect the Anti-Christ to be in favor of unrestricted abortion.

Sorry, McQueeg has already shown and demonstrated his complete disdain for the letter of the Constitution and his utter contempt for the the rule of law. He is a shameless serial liar.

His many serious assaults on American civil government greatly outweigh whatever he may think about abortion.

Oh that’s just nonsense.........MCain position are in line with 80-90% of conservatives...and you’d rather we elect a baby killer?

Let me simplify: 2 guys are running.......one will kill babies AND raise your taxes and TRASH your military. Whom do you vote for? Get over the “I hate McCain stuff” and do what’s right.

Time to get over the Primaries and circle the wagons to get the better guy elected.

'...and doesn't he keep saying he's a "Christian?"

I think the phrase he uses is that he is a committed Christian...
Whatever that is.

By their fruits you will know them. And sponsoring legislation to reduce the barriers to infanticide is not high on the list of 'good fruits' that one should like to be known by.

Maybe there was something to the 'committed' part of the expression. I'd like to see him committed...

Meh, don’t worry about them - let them stay home so they don’t have to “vote for the lesser of the two evils” again, or go ahead and vote for the commie - Juan will get the votes of everyone from the right-of-center to the left-of-center DLCers, Barack Hussein Obama only has the fringe.

Snobama-messiah’s latest - unrestricted abortion. Ping!

I dislike Juan McAmnesty with a purple passion, but I hope Snobama-messiah is deafeated like Cater in ‘80 come November.

FOCA doesn't go far enough, and Obama is a coward!

When are we going to find a leader who will fight against this completely arbitrary distinction as to which side of the birth canal a fetus happens to be on? That is SO nineties!

True reproductive freedom would give women the right to terminate one of these parasites at any time before it reaches the age of 21. We won't accept anything less!

And why is George W. Bush, the evil moron, forcing all these women to become infected with a pregnancy they didn't want anyway? Someone should put a stop to that.

Call me a dreamer, but what if there was a pill or something that women could take so that most of the time they wouldn't contract this pregnancy disease if they didn't want to. Wouldn't that be awesome?

So my friend, what shall you do on election day? Stay at home? Cast your vote for some one who has ZERO chance of winning even one state? Or just crawl into a corner when its all over and mumble to yourself “I won’t vote for anyone who isn’t perfect”? I’m not crazy about McCain either, however given our choices.........

One cannot be a Christian and pro-abortion. It's not possible.

First, your “80 to 90 percent” figure is utter BS. Nowhere near that many conservatives support him, and from the polls and postings and anecdotal discussions it seems that most conservatives find McQueeg to be completely repellent as an elected official. Rightly so.

He is a proven enthusiastic liar (even now he’s reviving his amnesty program), and to rest your entire hope on him appointing an anti-abortion judge to SCOTUS is just fantastic naivete.

He will do exactly the opposite for the sheer pleasure of poking a stick in your eye, guaranteed.

In classic Communist thinking, Barack allows you to have sex with no consequences...

1. Unlimited birth control available by the government

2. If you develop an STD, by not using #1, it isn’t your fault and we have a free clinic for you

3. If you decide to terminate the child’s life, that’s OK, it’s your choice, even if the baby is alive and delivered

4. If you decide to, well, take the baby to term and keep it, we will give you hospital care, food, clothing, money, an apartment and schooling for you and you baby. It doesn’t matter if you are even in the US legally.

This POS must be stopped at all costs. Hold you nose and Vote for McAmnesty, Obama is a collossal failure fueled by the Far Left, dumb ass college kids and inner city handout lovers.

This is hard to write, but VOTE McCAIN IN NOVEMBER!

It’s very much like “Social Conservative”, whatever that is.

The goal is to use the hyphenated modifier as a tool to distinguish yourself from “them”, without any consonant need to explain what the difference might be.

The question “How is a ‘committed Christian’ different from ‘a Christian’” is almost identical to “How is a “social Conservative’ different from ‘a Conservative’?”

Have a nice day.

McQueeg has repeatedly proven that he is dangerous to the U.S. Constitution and the rule of law.

That’s all there is to it.

I share that sentiment. I haven't been enthused about a candidate since Reagan. Holding my nose and voting for a candidate is wearing out my nose but the alternative is not acceptable.
