National Day of Prayer and Repentance

On Sunday, August 3, 3008, I am calling for a National Day of Prayer and Repentance. America has turned its back on God and I fear God has turned His face from us.

Christians and Jews, we are the last "minority" it's safe to scorn and mock. No longer. It is time for us to reclaim our rightful Godly heritage and help return our nation to its ROOT, in the one, true God.

Let us get on our knees on August 3, 2008, at 10:00 a.m. Eastern time (7:00 a.m. Pacific) - at the same moment across the nation - and pray for the redemption and repentance of our country, that God might make His face to shine on us once again.

I don't want to hear calls for this from government officials. They are a LARGE part of the problem. I want to hear pastors, priests and rabbis calling from their pulpits - calling for America to repent and turn to God and ask His mercy and grace upon us. Only in that way can we ever hope to become once again the nation that our Founders handed down to us - "...a Republic IF we can keep it." Only then can we hope to regain the stature and glory we had when we began as "One Nation, Under God."

The motto of my Marine Corps is "Semper Fidelis," Always Faithful. Let all the Christians and Jews in America be "Always Faithful" to our God, the God of our Fathers.

Prayer and repentence is indeed needed. We cannot earn His grace, but we can pray for His mercy.

Thank you for your service to our country. You have made an admirable proposal and frankly, we are in such troubled times in this nation that our problems are definitely “God-sized.” We serve a mighty and awesome God and it is time that we begin to proclaim His Name and His truths in this nation once again. We have cowered under the mighty hand of political correctness for too long. Our help comes from the eternal God of the Universe-—the Creator of this earth and every living thing. He set the mountains in place and positioned the sun, moon, and stars. Nothing is too difficult for Him. He has said that if His people, called by His Name, will humble themselves and pray, then He will heal their land. Our country is terribly wounded, but not beyond the reach of the Father’s mighty hand. Thank you for recognizing that our help comes from the Lord-—not from government. God bless you!

Exactly... We have fallen so far from His grace it will take a MASSIVE amount of repentance to see His mercy... but I am hopeful that His inspiration to me will also reach enough others to make a difference. We sorely need it.

America has not turned its back on God, nor has our Father turned his back on His children in America who love Him. This is still the most free Nation in the world. Have we had some natural disasters? Yes, we have, but those have not been done by God, but by the Spirit of Satan that walks among us. We, as a Country are not being punished for our defiance to our God, rather we are being afflicted by Satan in hope that we will turn from God.

No, in sum, we HAVE been ignoring God and His will. You see the evidence all around you. But you’re telling me that we don’t NEED to pray and ask God to forgive this nation and its people? That we can continue on the way we have been and yet expect His divine blessings on us? I submit to you that you are only fooling yourself.

Well, fortunately we don’t have to face Mecca or any thing. Since God is, in fact, all around us, we can face whichever direction gives us most comfort. I suspect that He won’t mind much as long as we are praying the way He expects us to. With a contrite heart and a humble spirit.

A spirit of revival, repentence, and ernest seeking of God's will needs to sweep this land.

THAT, as much as missiles, men at arms, technology, wealth, people voting, or anything else, will heal our land.

For it is that, and the moral value awakening associated with it, that will give all of that other true, worthwhile meaning.

Either we come to this ourselves, with the hearts and minds of the people recognizing the need and turning to Him, or ultimately it will be accomplished by other, potentially catastophic means which ultimately will be a result of our own making.

For example, I am convinced that one of the reasons (not the only one for sure) we are being overrun by illegal immigrant workers (among others) is that we have allowed to be killed off tens of millions of our citizens before they were ever born who might otherwise be doing those jobs as they work through the system.

This nation is greatly in need of repentance. We are looking too much to Washington to solve our problems than Christ.

Wholehearted agreement. NOWHERE did Christ tell us to get laws passed in order to fulfill His commandments. He told us to get off our OWN lazy backsides and go be witnesses of His mighty power to all the world. Getting government involved in doing what WE are charged with doing is what got us into this mess in the first place, in my opinion.

Got me to thinking about someone who must 'aim' his prayer. Me, personally, I haven't been able to hit a thing with it but to think one must be assigned a 'lane' on which to make a prayer approach is strange.

I can see being assigned a lane at a shooting range, but unless your prayers can cause a mortal wound, you should be free to broadcast at will (as long as people who don't want to hear it, don't have to).

A couple things bother me here.

1st off, normally a call to prayer and fasting is given by either (or both) political and religious leaders. No offense sir, but I don’t think you’re currently in a high leadership role in either our government or our religious institutions.

2ndly, as someone who believes Jesus is the Messiah who died for all mankind, I don’t feel any great religious kinship with those who explicitly reject Jesus and his great love. By definition (except for Messianic Jews....rejected even as “Jews” by all other Jews) Jewish people don’t believe in Jesus (similar to how Moslems don’t either), hence they don’t have the same fellowship with God which Christians...by God’s grace alone....do. Therefore I am entirely uncomfortable being lumped together asking for prayer with those who make it a part of their essential identity the rejection of Jesus.

You may call this bigoted, I simply call it realistic—as I MUST pray in the name of Jesus, and to Jewish people such a prayer is considered an insulting thing.

You will note that I specifically do NOT WANT political “leaders” involved, as they are 90% of the problem. I do ask religious leaders to issue the call. And no, I am not a religious leader, I’m a retired old mud Marine. However, I have never heard that God limits Himself as to who can carry His message. Do you know something I don’t here?

As to the Jews, last I knew they were STILL His chosen ones. How He will deal with them is His affair and none of mine. So I request that they also get involved. Who is harmed by it? You? Surely not me.

The bow has been pulled back and the arrow is being held until the right time. Our weather, the winding up of various problems coming together, and our country's inability to solve those problems demonstrate to me that God is either holding back the judgement on the world, or it is just beginning, like the trickle before a flood. The glorification of evil, the normalization of brutality, and the big Okeydokey for gays to have their "marriages" put on the same par with what God instituted, are other blips on the radar that come to mind.

Last week I had a similar thing happen to me. I am sick to death of hollywood always abusing God's holy name. When a celebrity can say fuc- to our Lords holy name,at the Oscars or emmys and have no repercussions,yes we need repentance in this country. And what did the hollywood crowd do? They laughed!! But this was twice on stage during a major media events. But we the people support these pagans and their so called work. How many movies now abuse God's name over and over. Last week I was watching a movie on TV,thought it was safe,it abused God's HOLY name 10 times but deleted the word shit! The one thing hollywood understands is money and they give lots of it and free media attention to people like Obama. We have to not just pray but turn our back and wallet on things like hollywood because they promote too many liberal agenda's and people like Obama. He is their new darling!!!! Don't think we can't make a difference!! My daughter is a struggling writer and has just finished a screenplay and told me because of ME she changed a part in the script because she had used God's holy name in it. Does she know better, yes. Was she raised NOT to do that,yes. But she considers herself part of that hollywood mindset.National Day of prayer,YES. We need to repent. And let us not forget homosexuals are getting married in California and there are so called churches ready to marry them. On fox news this morning they were talking about homosexuals getting married tomorrow and the very next story was talking about how devastating the flood were in so many areas of the country!

We have offended and grieved Jehovah God so badly in this nation that, I believe, we have been allowed to continue to exist as a nation only to the extent that we come to the defense of Israel and stand between them and the Muslim demoniacs who swear to kill every Jew and wipe Israel off the map.

At this point, I am pleading with God every day to find even a scintilla of mercy for us and spare us a Barak Obama presidency. However, I see the signs of His return being fulfilled almost on an hourly basis and I know that God is the One Who installs kings and removes them and I know that we have positioned ourselves for horrible judgment in this nation and I know that the person who will be elected in November will be the person who best fits into God's prophetic calendar for the next four to eight years.

We can pray for our nation to be healed, but we also need to seriously consider that we have passed the point of no return. There is one of those, you know.

I can understand...looking at all the evilness going on how a Christian could say "hey I don't do that stuff". We are all sinners though and to pray for our nation, we need to do so with righteous hearts. Sometimes when I can't think of anything to repent about, I ask the Lord to show me what areas I need to seek forgiveness for. He answers.

That said, we also need to pray that God will touch the hearts of our leaders and people in power that make decisions that affect America and that they also will have a change of heart and feel the need to turn their eyes to God.
