If McCain thinks he can win by catering to moderates and liberals and socialists, let him.
If he wins with that strategy, then that’s the way the Republican Party will go, and conservatives can start their own party, or pick one of the liberal parties, or opt out.
If he loses, then maybe the Republicans will see they need conservatives to win and will become a more conservative party again.
You have a dang good argument.I’m only suggesting that conservatives declare that—right now—they cannot support McCain unless he at least makes a few key conservative compromises (like drilling in ANWR).

I never vote on who is worse. I have 4-5 primary issues and if one is not in agreement with me on all of them (not hard, just be a conservative) then that person will not receive my vote. McCain is batting about .100 with me. Not good enough. No, it does not matter that Obama bats .000, I was never goingto vote dem anyway.
