Blackwater Outclasses Leftist Protesters
8/14/2008

Posted on 06/14/2008 9:40:08 PM PDT by Ladycalif

A group of leftist protesters showed up the protest the Blackwater facility in San Diego. A Gathering of Eagles, a biker group composed of mostly veterans and family members who rallies in support of the military, (many of whom support Minutemen rallies as well) showed up to support Blackwater.

Rather agitate the protesters, Blackwater grciously invited their supports inside for a tour of their State of Art Facility, BBQ lunch and free T-Shirts.

Interesting note, The man in charge of Blackwater recognized Kingfish of the Campo Minutemen and noted "The enemy of my ememy - guess that makes you a friend.

The cheapest shirt for $15 which has “I support Blackwater” is the best.

Now about those ‘I own Halliburton” shirts...

GROW UP, stop drinking the kool-aid, get a true EDUCATION by reading the books yourself and stop living off of talking points.

There is “NOT” any doubt the PROGRESSIVES have RUINED our public schools.

Such post prove students have NOT been taught to think for themselves. Liberals are indoctrinated with a hatred for the United States that is absolutely disgusting.

Without a doubt, you are a Leftist. Do you believe in Government handouts or do you believe the Elitist should control the government in order to erode the Middle class in order for there to be the haves and have nots again?

What sort of drugs are you on, anyway? I was asking you a question in response to your post in which you seemed in doubt as to whether the demonstrators against Blackwater should be demonstrating against terrorists in general, and Hamas, Al Qaeda and Amadinajad in particular.

If you choose not to answer the question then fine, that in itself is enough for me, but to turn my response into something it clearly is not. Then on top of that to accuse me of being a leftist is absurd and definitely a liberal tactic of attacking the messenger when embarrassed or outed by facts.

I am going to register a strong disent here, not from the left, but from the constitutional libertarian right. Since when do American's honor overpaid mercenaries? Since when do American's feel safer because key operational components of their national security has been placed in the hands, not of honorably serving members of the armed forces sworn to uphold the constitution, but to a highly profitable private venture.

Sorry, I am not going to trash blackwater, but I am not going to honor them either.

The people that protest against blackwater dont go to afganistan and protest infront of the teleban how they treat women.

Liberals always are willing to mock and protest while they are cloaked in the laws of the country that protect their personal safety. They wouldnt dare do it somewhere that their was a chance they could be killed.

Compared with the valiant men of blackwater who can think of 600 ways to kill people that protest against them but chose not to because they have honor.

That’s quite stretch. actually, many people are protesting the Taliban for that very thing. I don’t understand how their unwillingness to protest in a hostile country makes them somehow less American. Dissent is the cornerstone of democracy. How else would we have become the country we are without it?

Does one have to be a commie pinko to be concerned about a privatized army that makes SCADS more money than our own soldiers in combat?

Generally, so far my views on Blackwater are favorable. However, that doesn't mean I don't have some questions.

My basic question is a simple one. To whom does Blackwater feel it owes allegiance and loyalty--the federal government or the American people (they are no longer the same thing)?

Allow me to adjust your question.

To whom does the executive staff of Blackwater feel they owe allegiance and loyalty to?

I will be presumptive and say they all salute the American flag, stand for the Pledge of Allegiance the same way you and I do. They also have a legal contract with the US government subject to US laws, to provide mercenary services in Iraq. This is paid for by the American people. Their loyalty is to maintain the freedom and individual liberty that we enjoy here in America because they are Americans. I would go further and bet that these individuals are all conservatives. Odds are that all of them are veterans of elite branches of our military forces.

Now anyone asking if they are paid too much;

Blackwater employes men and women with the highest caliber of military skills. These men and women have previously served in hot combat arenas. They are not flushed out recruits. These are the people we would want guarding our highest legislators during times of danger.

Oh yeah do a sit down in Berkley and maybe get pepper sprayed... whaaaaay my eyes hurt... Im being oppressed....che lives ..... like that is a risk.

Our soldiers and most all of Blackwater employees are former soldiers put their lives at risk so you and others can play their little protest games because it is a part of your piety of your secular religion. The more you protest the more holy you are in your own eyes.

Now do you understand how their unwillingness makes them less american? or do I need to get out the hand puppets?

I mentioned Iran and your comparing their hatred of us and the West in general to anti American feelings in Europe is absurd. BS. They are overpaid mercenaries. The American Patriots to be honored are the men and women serving in uniform at a small fraction of the salaries of Blackwater employees. If the Blackwater employees don't like it, they made a choice: stay in uniform or take the money. They took the money.

Really not much more to be said.

Now let us see. Who is paying those contracts? Oh yes, in a large number of cases the American Taxpayer. Gee? Think if the American Taxpayer is paying their contract the American taxpayer might have some grounds for making a statement about them.

Second point: I don't have any particular problem with Blackwater, per se. But, as you say, they are private contractors. If they want to win hero medals they could have stayed on active duty.

Third point:

Mercenary: n. definition: one that serves merely for wages

They want to serve their country out of patriotic duty and get recognized for same, go to your recruiter and swear and oath. Want to join a private security firm for pay. Do so, but don't come running to me for a medal and praise. We have real heroes actually serving in uniform.

An even larger amount are being paid by Iraqi interests to protect their businesses and officials. But, let's just gloss over that shall we?

If they want to win hero medals they could have stayed on active duty.

Is that the measure of a "hero" in your world? Are there no non-military heroes? How about former military? Can they be heroes in AJ's world?

Do so, but don't come running to me for a medal and praise.

Funny... I didn't see anyone from Blackwater trying to claim a CMH. Is this another of those things that only exists in AJ's world?

As for who we honor with our praise, isn't that up to us? Or are you setting yourself up as arbiter of who gets what honors for fighting on Our side?

Nor did I. I am not the one who put their "honor" on the line. The folks who are lionizing them did. It's a for profit company. It provides a service at a fee, link my bank or my airline. It is, in general, a fair free market exchange. They aren't villains, necessarily, and they are not heroes, necessarily. End of story.

What is your problem, man? I choose to spend my day doing something besides standing on the road-side cheering on a bunch of high priced mercenaries, and you in your Big Brother Orwellian role start calling me anti-whatever it is you are for.

How about I just don't f'in care? I care no more or less than someone who decided to invent and sell a new brand of bubble gum. They can enter into private arrangements and participate in the free market all they want, and that is their right, so long as my taxpayer dollars are not involved and no inherently governmental functions (management of violence to attain political ends, for example). It is my right not to care. Being apathetic to others who operate in the free market does not make me a marxist.

Again, what is your f'in problem? Do you lack self-esteem? Do you need constant attention and approval?
