For a candidate who has insinuated that Sen. John McCain is too old to handle the stress of the presidency, Sen. Barack Obama has a strange way of demonstrating his own abilities. He will provide an example of his own limitations on Friday, when he visits Columbus.
It has been no secret thus far during the campaign that Obama does best in highly controlled, scripted appearances. He plans one for Friday, when he will go to Columbus to appear at an invitation-only event for a limited number of senior citizens.
Meanwhile, McCain has begun the series of town hall meetings in which he asked Obama to participate. As one last week in which McCain faced some questions that were difficult to handle demonstrates, the format is a rough-and-tumble brand of campaigning. Obama has yet to agree to participate with McCain.
During the primary election season, Obama insulated himself from reporters who might, after all, have elicited off-the-cuff reactions that could have embarrassed the candidate.
At some point, however, Obamas preference for friendly, no-surprises crowds will become so evident that he will have no choice but to face McCain, head to head. Confrontation, after all, often is the name of the game in the presidency and McCain seems more prepared to handle it.
These townhall meetings would be a great place to send a very important message to McCain. People should stand up and ask him his position on drilling for oil in the U.S.. If he says no way, then the person turns his/her back and leaves the building. No message could be plainer.
Comment:
I think the columnist may have been easy on Obama using the word limitations.
He could have said Obamas qualifications are err...laughable.
“qualifications are err...laughable”
You mean like his “experience” of 143 days as a senator?
After seeing Obama make off-the-empty-suit-cuff remarks, I would love to see him bumble through a town hall meeting. It was embarrassing to see how bad he was, but it was enjoyable. It is embarrassing that so many people don’t realize how badly prepared this guy is, too.

I BE OBAMATIZED say his mind numbed supporters, Communists, Socialists, America Haters, George Sorass Wannabes, DNCers, Plantation Voters, PMSNBC and assorted Airheads.
Does Obama have any plans to debate McCain at anytime?
Odd
OK

McCain needs to erect a life size cardboard cut out of Obama at each townhall meeting and answer for him with the socialist claptrap that would come out of his mouth.
However, the guy doesn't haven't even debate him. Obama is going to moonwalk straight to the presidency and no one in the press is going to challenge him on anything.
Remember, this is change you can believe in. That's all, end of discussion.....
My husband and I were talking about this subject this morning. We agree with you.
From here on out, Obama will be only putting himself in planned situations with controlled subject matter by the DNC.
The MSM will protect him and manufacture the illusion.
We could say they will whisk him into the WH, but then it takes the dumb dummies who believe this nonsense that will put him there.
Life sized cut out with a broken teleprompter in front of it. ;)
Don’t forget that fierce battle he faced to defeat Alan Keyes to win the IL seat too.
Truthfully Barak has never had to win a state wide election much less a national one. All he knows is the sort of stuff he’s trying to hide. Father Phleger etc.
