I really don’t understand all of the air time he’s getting for this. It is the same thing that Bill Cosby has been speaking on for years now.

Bill Cosby means what he says. That's why he gets criticized for saying it.

I also noted that in his speech he called for more government programs and government spending to help solve this problem.

The Empty Suit just does not “GET IT”, that his socialist welfare nanny state policices ENABLE black males to be absent and single women to not need a “man” to help out financially.

This from a man who wouldn’t his daughter “punished with a baby”. Absentee fatherhood is no problem if you kill the little things before they’re born. This guy is the king of mixed messages.

Spouting a few words in a church doesn't reach the problem... the policies of the socialist, DemocRAT party have eviscerated the black family unit to the point of no return. All this jackass is doing is rearranging the rubble...

“we need fathers to realize that responsibility does not end at conception.”

Really?? How about the responsibility of women to keep their legs together till they are married? Sound like a plan?

BTW-If “dad” respects his child, he will give his child a name! AND if “dad” respects the child's mother, he will marry her before their children are born. Anyway, what the he%$ ever happened to waiting till you could support a child before you have one?

Obama headed to church this Father’s Day Sunday in his hometown of Chicago -- the first time he’s been to church since he severed relations with his former pastor, Reverend Jeremiah Wright.  The Obama family attended services at Chicago’s Apostolic Church of God, one of the city’s largest African-American congregations.

Obama took to the pulpit to deliver a speech on fatherhood, a tenet that should be strengthened, he observed.  "Too many fathers are also missing.  Too many fathers are MIA.  Too many fathers are AWOL.  Missing from too many lives and too many homes.  They’ve abandoned their responsibilities, they’re acting like boys instead of men, and the foundations of our family have suffered because of it.  You know and I know this is true everywhere, but nowhere is it more true than in the African-American community."

Obama knows a lot about this subject.  His own father, Barack Hussein Obama Sr., went AWOL and abandoned Obama at the age of two, because his family was a hindrance to his career ambitions.

Obama's denial about who his father really was is best illustrated by this passage from his first book, "...never emulate white men and brown men whose fates didn’t speak to my own.  It was into my father’s image, the black man, son of Africa, that I’d packed all the attributes I sought in myself..."

Bigamy, child abandonment, alcoholism and spousal abuse -- are some of his father's attributes.

The photo-op over, the senator left the sanctuary before the actual sermon.

This is interesting -- the Apostolic Church of God's website states, "We believe in water baptism in the name of Jesus Christ, and the receiving of the Holy Ghost."

Does that mean Obama will finally get baptized and become a real Christian?  Swearing allegiance to the Black Value System really doesn't make one a Christian, no matter what Obama says.

I'll be watching.

Yes. What is the point of talking to the churches? They know the problem. He should be going to the street corners, the schools, the basketball courts, the jails, etc.

Abandoned by his father and shipped off by his mother to his white grandparents,
Barry Sotero becomes Barack Hussein Obama. Obama would describe his
grandparents as 'white folk.'

(Yeah, 'white folk' that would NOT abandon him, their grandchild.
Shame on you Obama.)

Obama is simply maneuvering for political gain. That's why he gets praised for saying it.

This message is polar opposite of what has been preached in his church for 20 years. It IS also the message that Cosby was criticized for. Moreover, it is right out of the "mean-spirited" Republican social philosophy. This campaign gets more interesting every day. Hope someone is taking excellent notes for future reference!

It is Obama’s “Sister Souljah” moment and the press wants to build up Obama’s “take responsibility theme.” The press knows this will help Obama look more “centrist.” It is a smart move, politically, but we all know Obama will do nothing to make dead beat dads more responsible or decrease illegitimacy.

I think he gets it, Obama is very bright. He really doesn't care and wants more socialism and slaves to the socialist system. But, he knows he needs to pretend to be a centrist from time to time to get elected.

Either he is a very confused and troubled man who should not be president, or he is a power seeking politician who will say anything for that power and should not be president.

Ok, enough with John McCain.... just kidding. McCain, as flawed as he is, is becoming by default and contrast with BHO, a better and better candidate.

I just wish he would strongly support a wall or fence across our southern border and agressive domestic oil exploration and development and building of refineries.

Ditch the corn. End Food to fuel requirements TODAY! <<< Another good campaign issue he could start pushing. Even the lefties might get onboard.

If anyone listened to that speech, it was a young white liberal who was merely confirmed in their culturally suicidal decision to not “breed”, thus no irresponsibility.

"Don't get carried away with that eighth-grade graduation," - 8th grade? Try kindergarten.

If passed, the legislation would increase enforcement of child support payments and strengthen domestic violence prevention services. - because that's been working so well already, so let's do more of it!

"We need fathers to realize that responsibility doesn't just end at conception." - Last time I checked, responsibility BEGINS at conception.

"I know the toll it took on me, not having a father in the house" - Your grandfather did a much better job than Hussein Sr. could ever do, but he's just some raving racist now...

...wishing that I could be home for my girls and my wife more than I am right now." - We'll make sure that happens come November.

The Fathers' Day speech by Obama is being extolled ad nauseum by the DBM as if it were equal to the famous "Cross of Gold" speech by William Jennings Bryan in 1896.

Bill Cosby has been saying the same thing about black fathers for a couple years now....and for HIS pains he's been crucified on a cross of coal by liberals, both black and white.

Even that consumate ass, Bill O'Reilly, praised Obama and his speech yesterday on Laura Ingraham's new late afternoon show.

Rush dissected the speech yesterday. What the presstitutes don't mention is the REST of Obama's speech....the totally Marxist plans he has in store for us if he's elected. Too much to go into here.....but if you get hold of a text, read it and weep.

Irresponsible fathers of the world, unite. You have EVERYTHING to gain if Uncle Karl wins the November elction.

First off it a 40. Secondly nobody gun tell a man to put down nutin unless a man want to be putin it down. A man gun have a 40 or a 45 when a man want to have a 40 or a 45, ain’t nobody gun tell a man when to have a 45 or a 40 unless a man want not to be having one or be having one. Also nobody gun tell a man if he having a 40 or a 45. A man gun choose hes 40 or hes 45 if he be wanting one or the other, some times it be 40, next time be 45. Other times it be 45 and the next be 40. Ain’t no telling which be which some time one, some time other one. 45, 40 no one be telling as man which one it be, cuz a man gun choose which one when.

The problem with Obama, like most Dems, refuses to pinpoint the most important SINGLE cause of the cultural degradation in much of the black community. That cause is the destruction of the 2 parent black family. The precipitate cause of this tragedy was the welfare state created by LBJ and (mostly) the DemocRAT Party. But since Barack He who must not be middle named Obama wants to extend and expand the welfare state to all of America, he is careful to avoid drawing the correct conclusions. Oh he gives lip service to the notion of personal responsibility, but is extremely careful to avoid any implication of the DemocRAT Party.
When you point out that the Democratic Party’s entire history and policies have been antithetical to the best interests of the black community, and that to the extent that a major political party is responsible for any political and civil liberty that black people have, they owe it to the Republican Party, and even when you can prove that historically and factually the most amazing case of political cognitive dissonance then occurs.

The common response is, well that may be true but only the Democrats are “for us”. They usually go on to an entirely erroneous understanding of Nixon’s Southern strategy, a distortion of Berry Goldwater’s principled opposition to the Civil Rights Act of 1964, and completely ignore the fact that the Democratic Party was founded amongst other things, to extend slavery into the territory’s. The Democratic Party opposed 13, 14, and 15th amendment to the United States Constitution, reconstruction, every bit of foundational civil rights legislation from 1866 to 1968, instituted Jim Crow in the Southern states, refused to enact antilynching laws, and most importantly destroyed the two-parent black family with Lyndon Johnson’s welfare state. When you point out the fact that the modern-day Democratic Party is home to the pro-abortion forces that have enhanced the wildly disproportionate abortion rate in the black community, that doesn’t seem to register either.

The black community is in the throes of the worst political brainwashing outside of the Soviet Union and I just don’t know what can be done about it. I am constantly engaged in debates with people in my community and they are determined to vote for Democrats despite the clear and present evidence of their utterly destructive policies. The staggeringly high level of political cognitive dissonance amongst my people is frightening.
