We are in a real bind. I have a bad feeling that when McCain wins the LA riots will pail in comparison as every major city burns. I hope I'm wrong, but I just don't think the ObamaNation supporters are going to be as nice about loosing as the Gore supporters were in 2000.

Any person who votes for Obama, knowing what that man stands for, is un-American. True Americans do not use the power of government to steal from their fellow citizens.

Obama’s campaign is going into meltdown. He’ll probably wind up picking Hillary! as his running mate.

I think the main concern for Obama is that he did not receive the bounce everyone anticipated after he locked down the nomination. Last poll I saw had him plus six which is a show, and the tell is when they started talking about not needing Florida and Ohio.

Internal polls must not be too sexy and the full court press will be on to lift offshore drilling restrictions, which is not an issue the Dems want to talk about right now.

When I was a kid it seemed like the democrats (DFL - Democratic Farmer’s League if I recall) were more of the union working gun-toting Bible reading folks. Of course the city has the Latte Liberals, but I think the rural democrats will find it easier to vote for a liberal like McCain than a commie like Obama.

(But those old election maps with Carter sure make me wonder!)

How can there be so many Marxist's/socialist in our country...

Count the number of: public education employees, union employees, retirees, farmers, college educators/administrators, recent immigrants (legal and illegal), welfare recipients, government employees, and anyone not mentioned who suckles at the gubmint teat, and you got yourself a socialist. It's all about the hand out, baby.

For the remainder, it's ignorance.

Obama doesn’t have the experience to be the President..Read a script or teleprompter and he’s ok...Speak extemporaneously though and all he knows is uh...um...oh...

a real ‘dim’RAT is what he is...

It will be a tough fight all the way to November but we need solutions now, not tax raises and platitudes from a dimwit...McCain should be ok and come out on top in Nov...a good VP pick will help too..

A society that allows itself to slide into socialism is doomed to failure.

I don’t think they’ll riot, but even if they do, I say let them. Then they can be arrested, tried, and convicted. Then they can’t vote anymore!

DFL is Democrat-Farmer-Laborite. Prior to the 1930s, MN was essentially a one-party Republican state that had an extremely wide ideology, from Conservative to Communist. The Dems barely existed. The Farmer-Labor party was founded to oppose the GOP and had some successes for a time, especially in the 1930s where it was the main opposition to the GOP. Eventually it merged with the Dems in the ‘40s and still has the name.

Not all union members vote for Democratics. Some are even FREEPERS. Republican presidential candidates usually get about 40% of the union vote. In 1972 and 1980 many unions endorsed Nixon and Reagan. In fact as I recall PATCO, the Air Traffice Controllers union endorsed Reagan. Its parent union MEBA, Marine Engineers Beneficial Association strongly supported Reagan.

If Ford had kept promises he made to two unions he would have been re-elected but that is the topic for another time (and a research paper to be published-but I will run it by here first).

There is also a poll out today of Ohio that shows Obama up by 11. It IS a Democratic pollster, but the margin is a bit disturbing.

"Oh, I don’t think Obama’s going to be cleaning anyone’s clock."

I disagree, the Republican base won't come out in large numbers for McCain and the commie's radical base (young new votes) the moonbats and many others will.

The only chance McCain has is to take a strong stand on domestic energy production while Obama protests.

Of course he will modify his position to include drilling in "less sensitive" area with strict environmental oversight by government employees.

Obama and the other Dem's rill call McCains positions radical as he teleprompts from the podium and the public will suck it up.

The MSN has conditioned the lemming to hate Bush so much with the war and the economy and the attempted tie in of McCains policies he'll be toast. Get ready for an Obama presidency and more commies in congress.

We are so screwed.

The real story is in the swing state polls. Haven’t seen a poll today, but yesterday McCain was up by 6% and very close in Minnestota...that is bad news for Obamanation.

Electoral votes, not popular vote. Look to the swing states.
