Boy Machine-Gunned in Bed in London Gang War

Two men have been convicted of murdering an innocent schoolboy after they sprayed him with bullets from a submachine gun as he lay in his own bed, in a case of mistaken identity during a London gang war.

Michael Dosunmu, 15, was hit by four bullets, one fatally wounding him in the heart, fired by the two gunmen who had burst into his home in south London looking for his brother.

They had been fighting with his brother Hakeem Dosunmu over the proceeds from a series of robberies, prosecutors told the Old Bailey Central Criminal Court.

Mohammed Sannoh, 19, and Abdi Omar Noor, 22, both from south London, were convicted of murder and firearms offences after the jury deliberated for nine days.

The pair will be sentenced tonight and face a mandatory life sentence.

During the trial, prosecutor Jonathan Laidlaw told the court the shooting happened just before 1:00am (local time) on February 6 last year, when the men forced their way into Mr Dosunmu's house in Peckham.

"They went straight to the first floor and entered one of the three bedrooms," he said.

"They turned the light on and opened fire with a Mac-10 submachine gun at a figure lying wrapped in a duvet.

"It was a well planned and well executed execution. The victim had no chance of surviving."

Mr Dosunmu's older brother was involved in drug dealing and had taken part in three successful raids on security vans, the court heard.

Sannoh was part of the robbery team and he and other members believed that Hakeem Dosunmu had cheated them.

The jury heard that members of the robbery team believed that a cash box the gang's leader had said was empty was in fact full of cash.

One of them confronted the gang leader and was stabbed to death.

The gang leader was arrested, leaving Hakeem as the target for the aggrieved robbery team, the court heard.

"Hakeem was the target on the night his brother was killed," Mr Laidlaw said.

"It was a revenge attack, or else Michael was killed deliberately to punish Hakeem.

"But it appears he was shot in error because of the money they believed they had been cheated out of and the murder of the other gang member."

The court was told that Hakeem Dosunmu was sentenced to two years jail in April for his part in the security van robberies.

His sentence was reduced from five years.

The court heard he "carries around with him the thought that it should have been him".

"The murder was carried out in the manner of a cold blooded execution - the victim was an innocent boy," investigating officer Detective Superintendent Gary Richardson said outside court.

"His death stunned the community.

"We pay tribute to Michael's family who have reacted to this violent act with great dignity and also those members of the community in Peckham, and elsewhere, who have come forward and shown that they are not prepared to see our streets taken over by people of violence."

I am calling BS on the news story. Its a well established fact that Great Britain has banned weapons of this sort. Its just can't happen because the gubbermint told me so. (s/)

The gun ban really works. One died but two lives were saved — the perps.

“Mohammed Sannoh, 19, and Abdi Omar Noor...”

No doubt these young men were named after ancient Scottish kings, and regularly attend the services of the Anglican Church.

Those two-one's from Sierra Leone, and one's from Somalia, I think. Regarding their gangmate Hakeem Dosunmu (I think it was Bush or Blair's fault)

From the Daily Mail:

Once a Sunday School teacher, Hakeem's life descended into drug dealing and gangsterism before he found redemption after his brother's death.
He went downhill soon after returning from five years in the Army, serving in Basra with 32 Engineers during the invasion of Iraq and later in Bosnia

Does London have a troubled youth problem like France? I noticed that a lot of London’s crime is being carried out by people with a certain type of name.

"It was a well planned and well executed execution. The victim had no chance of surviving."

There's nothing as well executed as the execution of a well executed execution being executed.

Let me be the first to say... no, wait, the second... well, let me be the third to say, “This story can’t be true. Guns are outlawed in the UK.” Said with as much UK smugness as I can muster.
