Cyber warfare officially arrived on Capitol Hill last week. Two Republican congressmen, Rep. Frank Wolf of Virginia and Rep. Christopher Smith of New Jersey, went public last Wednesday with the news that in 2006 and 2007 their office computer networks had been breached by Chinese hackers.
The cyber raiders were not looking for sensitive military or economic data. Instead, they apparently tried to steal political information about Chinese dissidents.

Americans would be well-advised not to spend a single dollar on the Mao Games this summer.
Very good article by Stephen Brown. Thanks for posting.
“A thousand grains of sand” bump ...
Remember also, when the Chinese Gov’t chooses a path, they are not “burdened” by opposition politics, Gov’t officials leaking to the press, or media investigations, so this has been happening for many years, and probably at many levels.
this is to be expected from a country that murdered 60 million of its own just 48 years ago.
that’s dumb.
as if washington d.c. does not have computer security experts
available to government employees and officials.
Start a boycott campaign, you can call it “Hold the Mao”, LOL!
DC information security is a bad joke.
For a more then a decade with all levels of our intelligence agencies infaltrated. It makes it a lot easier when you have a U.S. President (Clinton) open the doors to our secrets wide open. Democrats have been traitors for 40 years and should be now be called America’s fifth column. A shame they are largely control of this nation. The probability of further economic destruction and mass military misadventure resulting from overconfidence of our adversaries whom have our best military secrets is now at epic proportions... We had better get our head out of the sand on energy because without it, we could actually lose large scale conflicts. If that breaks out with Democrats at the helm, I am sure they will just tell fighter squds and tank mechanized infrantry to just drive less.

That's a bit of a stretch, but you get 2 points for originality. Unfortunately, I'll have to then subtract 1 point because, as that ! on your LOL indicates, you laughed too hard at your own joke. ... Okay, I'll add back 1/2 of a point since you're a ravingnutter and probably couldn't help yourself...
Point total: 3/2
It's hard to implement security where most of the users are VIPs who don't want to be subject to the rules, and even those who aren't VIPs will throw around the names of their VIP bosses to be exempt themselves.
This will never change anywhere until people see IT security as something that protects them, just as do the locks and security systems on their cars and homes, rather than as an annoyance.
