Woman beats 7-foot-3 sex offender with baseball bat

On the day that fliers announced a registered sex offender had moved into a Puyallup neighborhood, a woman welcomed him with an aluminum baseball bat.

"I kept swingin' and swingin' and swingin," court documents say Tammy Gibson told police, who arrested her in Cottonwood Mobile Home Park.

Gibson has been charged with second-degree assault and felony harassment

Read the article, she originally told the guy that he had assaulted her children, then told police that he didn’t.

And the update to the article stated that the guy was arrested for failure to register as a sex offender, that the address in that trailer park was not his listed address.

Why wouldn't they? The article leads me to think that he isn't the only nutjob in the neighborhood. It doesn't read as though the guy actually did anything wrong in this case. It reads like she found out that he lived there, got a wild hair up her butt, knocked on his door and got medieval on him. As far as I know you can't go around taking baseball bats to people just because you don't like them.

I’m a proponent of public execution as a deterrent to crime. Do away with the “painless” lethal injection execution. March the convicted out on the courthouse square, put the rope around his neck, and drop the floor out from under him. Televise it, and let the other criminals see what will happen when they get caught.

Old-fashioned redneck trailerpark justice. You can slice it both ways. There would be no defending such behavior if the justice system weren’t broken. But it is. If the law won’t deal with serial sex offenders, then this is the kind of thing you can expect.
