Kerry: McCain Is The Real Flip-Flopper
June 19, 2008 5:07 PM
ABC News' Teddy Davis and John Santucci Report: Maligned as a "flip-flopper" during his 2004 presidential run, Massachusetts Sen. John Kerry, D, argued Thursday that Arizona Sen. John McCain, R, is the one who truly deserves the "flip-flop" label.
"There was one issue on which the entire Republican campaign based itself last time about a flip flop which was that I voted for something before I voted against it in an amendment on the floor of the Senate. It was a vote of principle. It was not a change of position," said Kerry. "Our fault was in not explaining it adequately."
Kerry went on to contrast himself with McCain, whom he approached in 2004 about crossing party lines to be his running mate. Kerry argued that the presumptive Republican presidential nominee has flip-flopped on a series of substantive issues.
"In the case of John McCain," said Kerry, "he has changed now on torture, which is a fundamental value. He has changed on taxes which he once called dangerous, and now he is in favor of the permanent Bush tax cut which he once voted against. A complete change of position on the actual substance."

HuH! Coming from Mr “I Voted for it Before I Voted Against It”. What a waste of platelets this haughty idiot is ...
alosersayswhatkerry?
Shut up, Lurch.
Sounds like he flipped in the right direction on every issue.
“There was one issue on which the entire Republican campaign based itself last time about a flip flop which was that I voted for something before I voted against it in an amendment on the floor of the Senate. It was a vote of principle. It was not a change of position,” said Kerry. “Our fault was in not explaining it adequately.”
Boo freaking hoo, ya big baby. W beat your French looking ass.
We need McCainiac to change a few more positions.
Dear Sen. Waffle:
Whatever. The one fact that hasn’t changed is that he’s still the man who was tortured in a prison run by the enemy you collaborated with.
Nonsense, the RINO relic is NOT a flip flopper. Flip floppers like Kerry get defensive. The RINO relic is FLUID, VERY FLUID, and he never stays on any position long enough to take the defensive, let alone “flop” there.
Dude can’t get over it can he! Too funny!
Let this unlikeable moron keep flapping his gums for Obama. It’s the best thing he can do for McCain.
Brett66: “Sounds like he flipped in the right direction on every issue.”
Flip-flopping isn’t necessarily a bad thing. Granted, I’d prefer a consistent conservative over a recently flip-flopped one, but changing your opinion when you realize you’re wrong? That’s a good thing.
Boy, you’d think with a billion dollars at your disposal you could learn to let go, move on and get a life. But Frenchy’s still re-parsing his last election loss. Forget it, Kerry. Believe me, the rest of us have.
I’m glad the guy flipped to the correct side of the issue. :)
McCain ought to proudly say “Damn right I flipped! I was wrong, and now I’m right!” BWA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA
Flip flopping is a common flaw among ultra liberals like McCain and Kerry...
He is just demonstrating rigid flexibility.
No, McCain should say that when he voted against drilling, oil was thirty dollars a barrel, when facts change I change my mind. (It just took McCain a while to realize the change in circumstances.)
Wow. Kerry thinks he is relevant.
Now Kerry has flip-flopped against his preferred running mate.
What's next?
“Shut up, Lurch.”
Giga dittos!
Truer words were never spoken.
I don't even like McCain, but what you said was excellent.
Whatever. The one fact that hasnt changed is that hes still the man who was tortured in a prison run by the enemy you collaborated with.
Bumped and augmented!
Lurch is an old scab.
It means so much coming from Mr. Butt Monkey the flap jack queen.
That’s EXACTLY what I was going to post!!!!
-Great Minds....right?
“Kerry: McCain Is The Real Flip-Flopper”
He might be, but YOU are a traitor.
OK admit it...isnt it fun to watch McCain’s RAT buddies turn on him?
Kerry cannot stand not being in the public eye; no matter what it takes. His greed for a microphone; a camera; is incredible.
McCain and Kerry. Flip and Flop. lol
A worthy reminder. . .
Is that why Kerry invited McCain on the 2004 ticket?
A person should be allowed to change his mind as he lives and learns, otherwise we would be stuck with whatever we thought when we were three.
Kerry was for McCain before he was against him.
Taking the above to its logical conclusion then it would mean Kerry is the "FAKE Flip-Flopper"...
Makes sense to me, I always considered John "Heinz" Kerry to be about as fake as a human can get.
What is so predicktable about Jon Cary is that he is loyal to no one. He isn’t loyal to his wife, his friends, or his country.
What a POS.
Obama has been accused of “gaffes” in disclosing his far left views in nearly every extemporaneous discussion with the media.
However, I suspect he is trying to avoid the flip-flop label by being consistent. It is the anti-kerry strategy.
Kerry figured he could fool everyone. BHO knows better.
What emerges is a more honest, accurate image of the candidate. In this case, the image is that of an unapologetic, radical socialist and racist.
And he’s the real Vietnam vet, too.
McCain should expain his reversal on drilling by noting that gas prices have increased tremondously since 2000, that our need to be independent from the Middle East’s oil has increased. Then say: “When the facts change, I am willing to change my positions. What do you do?”
