If and I say if you consider this a failure of GW Bush then I am sure he would rather have this as a legacy than some one who did not try. He may have tried and failed to unite Washington and change the tone but he tried.
He lives his Christianity not just spouts it ultra conservative views to him are contra to his convictions hence his belief in compassionate conservatism.

John McCain won’t even slow down the pace of the thousands of abortions that are committed every day in America, much less stop the holocaust.
