Hey, swing state Florida, I will not offshore drill
The Sen. Barack Obama press machine issued this statement that Obama will deliver at his media avail this afternoon, in which he pledges (where have we heard that word before?) to keep the federal moratorium against offshore drilling in place:
"When I am president, I will keep the moratorium in place and prevent oil companies from drilling off Florida's coasts," the statement reads. "That's how we can protect our coasts and still make the investments that will reduce our dependence on foreign oil and bring down gas prices for good."

That does not sway this Floridian, nor any that I know of personally.
You can’t even see the darn things over the horizon, and even during the worst hurricanes, we never saw a spill on any of the Gulf coast!!

Obama hasn't checked the latest Florida poll lately that read 61% favored off-shore drilling and believe it will lower gas cost.

There is an attorney who does radio spots here in NJ, and he is a conservative. I love his spots.
He has one this week stating that the Chinese are drilling off the coast of Florida. He says, :Maybe we can ask the Chinese Communists if we can have some of our own oil.".
To: Salena Zito
Now would be a great time for President Bush to rescind the original executive order, even though the congressional law would still be in place, and force Obama to state whether he would reinstate the executive order.

Yea, sure Hussein, just like not eating what we want, not owning the SUVs that we want, not keeping our thermostats in a comfortable range, not clinging to our guns, not clinging to or religion, and now not driving or using gasoline are going to all somehow make us better off in this country.
All of those are positions you espouse.
Sorry, I'm not into Carter malais II. So just stuff it!
Drill here, drill now, refine here, refine now, nuclear power here, nuclear power now! Hear, hear!
That's who has my vote on these issues Hussein, you marxists with a heavy dose of black militantcy and islamic background.

When I am president, I will keep the moratorium in place and prevent oil companies...BO could have saved a tree and put the period there!....everything else was a waste of hot air! We all know he meant "When I am president, I will keep the moratorium in place and prevent oil companies, drug companies, steel companies, software companies, hardware companies, white companies, jewish companies....only companies we'll need are black companies and muslim companies!"
Right fist held high in air in salute (or is it the left one, I can never remember....just look around before you raise your fist)!

"That's how we can protect our coasts and still make the investments that will reduce our dependence on foreign oil and bring down gas prices for good." Sadly, most voters are so friggin' stupid they won't see this as the most asinine statement he could make. I would really like to hear the detailed chain of logic that he'd have to follow to make his statement even remotely resemble the truth. Why does the GOP sit on the sidelines and let him get away with this? When is the GOP going to start fighting back? Well, I'll tell you this: Until the GOP grows a pair, hangs up the politically correct kidd gloves and starts fighting back, they'll not see a dime from me. I had it with those gutless wonders.

Even Obama's press releases say absolutely nothing. What will the government investment in that will lower gas prices?

That sentence makes absolutely no sense, whatsoever.

I understand how badly folks are struggling to pay gas prices that have reached well over $4 in many places. I still remember the man I met in Pennsylvania who just lost his job but can't even afford to drive around and look for a new one. And yet, illegal aliens, with even less, can find their way across the border and procur jobs. What happened to the positive stories of people overcoming life's challenges?
To: Tex Pete
That sentence makes absolutely no sense, whatsoever. Which makes Obama the perfect candidate. An empty headed dolt for a country that has lost it's soul.

Obama reminds me of the movie “Idiocracy”. They killed off their crops because they watered them with an enrgy drink, so this guy suggests they use water.
They just kind of stared blankly at him and said “But it has elecrolytes!”.

Obama thinks its great we should buy oil from our enemies abroad but its
verboten to drill for it here at home. Its worth a debate. I give his stand (with kudos to Debbie Schlussel) zero Reagans!

Obama is pandering to the people outside of FL. He can’t win it and he knows it...or his handlers know it, rather.
Of course a “pledge” is meaningless to that sorry excuse for a candidate.

A Florida official named Alex Sink popped up on TV this am saying that she disagreed with Governor Crist and that drilling off Florida would harm the multi-billion dollar tourist industry.
Good grief, if the tourists can’t afford to get down there because they’re broke from paying 4 to 5 bucks for gas/airfares have gone stratospheric — and are paying more and more for everything else with an energy cost component (and that’s everything!) — THERE WONT BE a multi-billion Florida tourist industry!
Looks like the Obamessiah is drinking the same Koolaid.
Politically, let’s hope it has the same effect on B.O. as the Jonestown flavor.

To: Salena Zito
What I want to know is why Florida keep talking about tourism as a reason for not drilling off shore. Don’t they realize if people can’t afford the gas to drive to Florida there will be little tourism?
To: 353FMG
I was thinking the same thing today...I said to myself--never did I think there would come a day when I would prefer to see Mrs. Clinton and Bubba on my TV screen...up to their old tricks, lecturing us about something or other, lying their pants off. I simply cannot stand to see or hear Barry Hussein every minute of the day...I truly believe he will sink his own campaign with his arrogance. Have you seen his presidential seal logo?

Oh man, do you have to do this to me on a Friday evening? I think that we have sunk as low as the US could ever get. I keep asking myself; “Where did we go wrong?”. But then I see the many dispicable clowns we have elected to high office and kept there for many years and I get the answer.
This man is more dangerous than one could possibly imagine. His megalomania in combination with his Muslim connection could make him more dangerous than OBL. The “Americans” who plan to vote for him are to be watched the same way as members of Al-Qaeda are.

The only thing that comforts me...and this is really scary...is that I am hoping and praying that Clinton Inc. will sabotage Barry Hussein and his puppet master Soros. Although, I truly believe his absolute arrogance and stupidity, not to mention the fawning Drive-Bys and his constant presence in the media, will eventually sink him. Do you know that he'll be doing ads during the Olympics—can we not watch the games in peace???

I'm becoming less worried every day. Statements like this paint him in a Dukakis/McGovern light only with richer colors. And his arrogance, as you say, with the quasi-presidential seal.... Wait until Barry does a townhall or a debate without teleprompters !!!
McCain is the luckiest guy alive. He should win this in a walk. We all know Barry is clearly more liberal than either of the Dems previous embarrassments.
