Obama: 'They're going to try to make you afraid of me'
CNN Political Ticker ^ | 6/21/08 | Alexander Marquardt

Posted on 06/21/2008 4:44:29 PM PDT by melt

JACKSONVILLE, Florida (CNN) – Barack Obama told supporters that Republicans will “try to make you afraid of me” in remarks he made Friday at a Florida fundraiser.

"The choice is clear. Most of all we can choose between hope and fear. It is going to be very difficult for Republicans to run on their stewardship of the economy or their outstanding foreign policy.

“We know what kind of campaign they’re going to run,” said the presumptive Democratic presidential nominee. “They’re going to try to make you afraid. They’re going to try to make you afraid of me. ‘He’s young and inexperienced and he’s got a funny name. And did I mention he’s black?’"

Imagine what it will be like with Barack Hussein Obama running America. Every time he's criticized--- he'll be charging ageism & nameism. And did I mention racism?

Obama: ‘They're going to try to make you afraid of me’

Sorry Obama but no one can make me afraid of what I am now terrified of and that is your election to POTUS.

You most dangerous man in all of America.

I AM afraid when you tell me I can't eat what I want, keep my thermostat at 72 degrees or drive a "safe" car.

Stay out of my life and stop wasting OUR time and money on your brilliant idea of...we're all equal"....

Because I'm not equal to people who sit on their butts, pop out kids with no fathers like gumballs and all the other bums of society who live off of OUR paychecks.

Barack Obama told supporters that Republicans will “try to make you afraid of me” in remarks he made Friday at a Florida fundraiser.

No, Barack, you make me afraid of you -- with comments like this...

Obama: Man of the World
By NICHOLAS D. KRISTOF
Published: March 6, 2007

Mr. Obama recalled the opening lines of the Arabic call to
prayer, reciting them with a first-rate accent. In a remark that
seemed delightfully uncalculated [...], Mr. Obama described the
call to prayer as "one of the prettiest sounds on Earth at
sunset."

Bill and Hillary campaigned in part based on him being black; she allegedly told super-delegates privately that he can’t win the general election. Bill especially used racial innuendo during the primaries. Why do any of that, if not to play on people’s fears? Why didn’t Bill just play up Hillary’s 10 point plan for socialized medicine if she’s so wonderful?

Hillary and Bill have already written a lot of potential campaign ads for McCain based on their own statements during the primaries.

I eagerly await the well thought and appropriate response from the McCain campaign. /s

Seriously, if McCain doesn’t respond vigorously and point out who is the racist here, his campaign is in trouble. Statements like this that go unchallenged grow when fertilized by the Obama butt kissers and water carriers in the media.

Maybe McCain will find a staffer of his that he will say is responsible for making Barry say this, and then fire him.

I haven’t said one word about your race or my race for that matter. You on the other hand can’t seem to shut the f*ck up about your skin color.

This is called a ‘gratuitous assertion’

Meaning it has no basis in fact, and it can be equally gratuitously denied.

“No he won’t”

What a heck of a campaign... accuse the opponent of what he hasn’t done and say how bad it will be when he does that...

McLame does not have the balls to fly off the handle and ATTACK this dumbass for CALLING HIM A RACIST IN ADVANCE OF HAVING DONE ANYTHING RACIST

We really have tweedle dee and tweedle dum as a selection this year... don’t we.

Can you say affirmative action and set-asides to meat diversity quotas? The diversity quota concept was banned recently in Michigan and several years ago in CA, an openly racist practice that went unchallenged for decades and is still practiced in many institutions.

I think he does need to respond, because there is a lot more of this coming. And because, unchallenged it will be repeated over and over and become fact in the media.

Remember Clinton’s claim of burning churches in Arkansas? Never refuted by Bush’s people. Worse, they never came out and demanded that Clinton simply prove his claims. They should have done that in every damn interview. Repetition is the key.

IMO, the best way to publicly deal with this sort of thing is demand that he prove it. Send me the transcripts of the videos or the copies of the legit news stories where we have done that. Put up or shut up. And demand it often. Over and over and over. NEVER let up. Keep reminding Obama that he hasn’t presented proof of his accusations.

I work in a sheltered environment and don't really “hang-out” with the masses. If Americans fall for this crap that easily then a prime-time statement could be in order. I just think it is beneath recognition and respect. The man is a racist and can't get it out of his soul.

He may be academically successful, but that is hardly the benchmark for common sense or true intelligence. Most of the time that I hear and Ivy Leaguer talk, complete garbage is being spewed from their mouth. This guy has no concept of real world economics and foreign policy. He still sounds like a naive college student. He actually reminds me of the many liberal/marxist student leaders i encountered on campus, except that most of them abandoned their adolecent ideas after leaving college.

...I wouldn't say that I'm afraid of him...

God will give us the leaders we deserve, and In God We'll Trust -- even IF the good Lord decides that our time of mercy has run out and He's going to stick us with this ... undeserving person.

I'm just generally appalled to think that Mr. Obama has gotten this far.
Is America that far gone? Considering a candidate with nil experience (other than being a local community 'activist', and a 'facilitator' of bull sessions in College) - solely because of the color of his skin and because of the timbre and cadence of his voice?
Ignoring his support of marxist policies?
And his 20 year membership in a racist 'church' wasn't enough to disqualify this guy for leadership consideration? ...
I just shake my head in amazement.

Not trying to be argumentative, but how do you respond? Obama knows what he is doing, and if this contest starts to sink into the racial mire, we lose and it doesn't matter that all the racism is obviously coming from the other side.

This is why I could not believe all the rabid, “beat Hillary at all costs” crowds on FR. If Hillary won the primary, she was going to get whitewashed in a General Election. But now we are at such a disadvantage due to the fact that BO can get as nasty as he wants and McCain can't respond on anything that could even be construed as having racial overtones. Obama knows this all to well.

As I tell my liberal friends—You can’t unite from the left or the right—only a centrist can do this. Reagan, as great a speaker as he was (God bless his soul and may his spirit be a peace) couldn’t unite the parties. The one who had the best shot was—and this tell it all—was Clinton in his second term! Being a creature from the left—far left too—Obama has no chance at all of uniting the nation. He will—I believe—polarize the nation. McCain, as a centrist RINO might be able to do it.

He's gotten this far because of the dominance of the far left over the Democrat Party. The fix was in. They know Obama is very ambitious, he's malleable (will do what he's told), he's "presentable," and above-all he's Black - which should immunize him against the attacks which others with his views would be subjected to. People who attack him can always be labeled as racists. On the whole, an ideal front man.
