I wouldn't mind The Hartford Courant going down the tubes even if it is the longest continually published newspaper in America.

All these horrendous media companies need to DIE, and their employees need to be thrown out.
Rotten companies and rotten "reporters" need to go!!!!

The Slimes is up there on the most hated list. I also would like to see the commies at the Ass. Press go under. A bunch of leftist activists posing as reporters. If the newspapers stop printing and go digital, hopefully the AP will go under as well.

By the time you get your daily newspaper, it’s already old news. The internet, devices like the iPhone and the younger generation will be the demise of the traditional newspaper. Good riddance!

This is the reason for the AP to do backflips for revenue by charging for online useage.
The AP is dying...... It has no revenue except from dying newspaper members.

More losses in circulation and advertising? Fire more of the IT nerds!
To: GOPGuide
I think the only paper I know that is increasing it’s circulation and ad revenue is the “New York Post,” which happens to have a conservative slant. Telling isn’t it.

By the time you get your daily newspaper, its already old news. The internet, devices like the iPhone and the younger generation will be the demise of the traditional newspaper. That's what [lawyers at] AP don't understand. They can't intimidate by "new guidelines" or sue their way out of this "brave new world" of instant communications. Instead of threats which only speed up their demise, they should be figuring out how to improve the "service"... but that will only come if they start to understand who their customers and consumers (not members or affiliates or distributors) of "news" are and what they are interested in.

“But where will all the young leftists at J school go? They want so much to make a difference.”
....I expect they’ll just walk across campus and enroll in Law school...I remember when there was a time when it wasn’t the way it is now with news papers....it was the Washington Post during Vietnam that pioneered the concept of America as the bad guy...it’s just grown from there...the Post may hold on the longest....they’ve gone into other things like Kaplan tutoring for instance.

Alvin Toffler warned about this way back in 1979 when he wrote The Third Wave. Read the chapter "De-Massifying the Media" and you know why the MSM ignored that warning to their peril.
