Frank Powers, the wealthy Wall Street retiree tapped to run for disgraced Rep. Vito Fossella's congressional seat, died Sunday- sending shock waves through the already reeling state GOP.
News of Powers' fatal heart attack had many party insiders wondering if Fossella would change his mind and run again - but he quickly moved to quash the speculation.
"Congressman Fossella will not be seeking re-election," said a Fossella aide.
Powers, a 68-year-old MTA board member, philanthropist and father of seven, died at home early Sunday, relatives said.

The DMC hired a hitman to kill him. Poisoned him and paid off the coroner to say it was heart attack. Conspiracy nuts run amuck........

Maybe they can recruit his moonbat Loonytarian son, who was running against him in the general.
RIP, Mr. Powers.
(BTW, does somebody want to explain to me why they were running a sick-looking 68-year old who looked like he was in his 80s for a FIRST term in Congress ? And while we’re at it, explain to me why we’re running an even older RINO for President ?)

Vito screwed up, but then again, he didn’t pick the Republican Frank Lautenberg to run for his seat.

Not completely. We do still have the Senate there. Of course, we hold it because of a lot of guys that make Mr. Powers look like Dakota Fanning.

Condolences to hsi family.
It looks like the seat is probably going Democrat. The Conservative paryt cheief, Jerry Kassar, was likely to cross-endorse a Democrat councilman anyway — although he’s a fairly conservative Democrat. With Powers gone and Fossella sticking by his refusal to run, I thin the choices may be Blue Dog or lib.

If Jerry crazy? There is no such thing as a conservative Democrat in congress. There are merely moderates and liars who are tools for the Pelosi socialists.
