Obama ends swing state tour in the 'Burgh Pittsburgh Tribune-Review By Salena Zito

Presumptive Democratic presidential nominee Sen. Barack Obama will conclude his three week swing-state-road trip in Pittsburgh Thursday by holding an "America's competitiveness in the global economy" summit at Carnegie Mellon University.

An "A" list of attendees will participate in the summit, some of these brainiacs include: Richard Wagoner, chairman of General Motors, AOL founder Steve case, MIT president Susan Hockfield and Andy Stern president of SEIU, whose union committed to dropping over $85 million to be parsed out in states like Pennsylvania for the November election.

While Obama lost Pennsylvania to sort of home-town girl Sen. Hillary Clinton, Obama won in the city of Pittsburgh proper 53,271 to Clinton's 37,996, finishing strongly not just in the black neighborhoods but in the liberal tony neighborhoods as well.

Usama Ubama’s CMU deal is CLOSED to the public.

SEIU members must be ecstatic about their leaders dumping $85 MILLION clams on the Opossum.

Yea Barry, stay in the 'burg and the hood. You won't be as welcome in the rest of PA. People "cling" to our jobs, religion and guns out here.

I loathe this guy.

CLOSED to the public? No average average yunzer in the wide angle photo standing in breathless admiration (and ethnically diversity) behind him? How non-democratic of the Messiah...this will only compound my bitterness.

"I'm not in this race to continue the special-interest-driven politics of the last eight years."

He does not take money from lobbyists or from political action committees (PACs) is a point Obama often makes on the campaign trail, no-dirty-money.

(Except for that $85 mil from the goons at SEIU) "Are the idiots actually buying this $hit Axelrod?"

I am still in recovery here...n'at. I switched parties, and took one for the team...I voted (lowers head in shame) for Hillary.

It will be interesting to see if our Guv, 'Fast' Eddie shows...and 'endorses' the chosen one...

I have always thought that Edwards was the most hypocritical when it came to this stuff. Edwards was collecting 30k per speech on "poverty" at colleges and talking about "2 America's" while working for hedge funds.

However, now Obama is now making Edwards look like a piker.

CMU was the place where Michelle Obama gave a speech and her handlers told an Asian student that she couldn’t sit in the crowd behind Obama because they wanted more white people there.

I’m not surprised—CMU had AlGore give this year’s commencement address. Maybe it’s time for Navy ROTC to take over student government again.
