New Hampshire International Speedway is one of the most unusual tracks on the Nextel Cup Series. How unusual? The track has been described as "Martinsville on steroids." Its roots in New England racing go back to 1964, when Bob Bahre acquired a track in Oxford, Maine, which he and his son, Gary, operated until 1986.

Loudon race thread is up! Ping
1st for once?
Thanks for the post.
Thanks for the thread Norm!
Have been out of town for a week or so.
Watchin’ the ‘Dale’ movie on CMT...always interesting.
Yup,,first. Good shooting!
You’re most welcome.
Just put work down for the evening and thought I’d check out what happened around the world today.
SSDD except for the race thread!
Finally back to “left-turn-only” racing. Last weekend was a bummer.
Howdy Nork! A shameless plug for a shrub or smoke win Sunday. Yeah, I know.
THX for the ping.
No telling who’s gonna win next week-end, nope.
But if I was a betting type.. ;-)
YW! I’m off to get some beauty sleep. I need a pile of it . ;-)
Be sure and check the inside of your eyelids for cracks.
Yee and haw!
Tork, I just talked to Pete on the phone. He says whatever in the world you are BBQing... IT’S DONE. TURN IT OFF!
He’s spending the night in San Jose so he can breathe... then back into it tomorrow. He ran into the smoke by Battle Mountain NV, and hasn’t had a clean breath until tonight.
They showed a satellite view of the state with the smoke from north of Sac to Bakersfield
Be sure to read all the posts at the end of the article. Some of them boys are schooled at DU...
Heh. Good of em to let the Post Office play too... sharpen their skills.
My focus right now is 1) when I get to go to go to bed, being work capable from home is not a good thing!
And 2) this weekend, supposed to see Mr and Mrs Pete-R-Bilt on Saturday. Have heard nothing from Mr. PRB, the cad that he is. Guess I have to go searching the highways and byways........
What are the new rules for posting links from the AP? There are Nascar stories out there but they carry the AP byline...
Best to not post any ap material at all to be safe for now.. I saw a couple as well but ..
lol..
we are smoky and 70ish
Poor old David Poole MORE DRIVEL
We’re starting to get rumblings from the Gulf. Very spotty, but at least it resembles rain.
We may get another dry lightening storm this weekend. I heard there were over 8000 lightening strikes in last weekends show from Monterey to the Oregon border.
I think that’s about three more than we had last weekend. Hour and a half’s worth for fifteen minutes of rain. LOL
Hope yours is better, as in fewer. :)
And Ford is selling just above $5.00 a share today. GM and Ford Team owners must be having sleepless nights...
This has been coming for a while. While I was as agitated as anyone about Toyota raining on our parade, I knew it was the only hope to keep stock car racing above water.
Don’t know how much of this is the typical “talking the economy down”, but I do know American car makers are doomed if they don’t change their ways, if they aren’t already.
Had that been the case I'da stole a fire truck and gone and helped them!
This week was worse than that! While I WAS IN THE DOCK AT MY LAST PICK IN Wasco, thier warehouse caught fire so I had to scream at the loader to throw the order on cause I told him my truck wasn't sittin here while the building burnt down.
I passed six of the eight trucks responding as I drove away!
what a week...
Ya, ya, ya, I was gettin to ya
just watch how you go looking for us big brother is watching you!

I’m glad you got away from the dock before it became a hot load.
ROFLMAO.. People are dying and Pete is worried about his back haul...
hey tube! you here?
No! I’m up here...
Did you go to Sears Point last weekend and how is the smoke in your area?
My best friend and his wife invited us to dinner this Saturday. Well, I come home and our wives are sitting at the kitchen table thinking of a place to go eat. Out of the blue I suggest Samoa Cookhouse! My buddy’s wife exclaims that she’s been thinking about/wanting to go up there for a couple of months. So, we’re heading up Sat. morning, a leisurly drive up 101, get a motel and go to dinner at the cookhouse. Get up Sunday have breakfast and drive home. Would like to meet you while we’re there. And, can you recomend a nice motel?
Guess you didn't sty at the Holiday Inn last night.
LOL...No but I stayed at the Peabody Hotel in Fort Worth so I could watch the Ducks walk out of the elevator to the swimming pool on a special red carpet they rolled out for them...
An Amish farmer, walking through his field, notices a man kneeling down and drinking from his farm pond. The Amish farmer shouts: ‘Trink das wasser nicht. Die kuhen haben dahin gesheissen.’ (Which means: ‘Don’t drink the water, the pigs have crapped in it.’)
The kneeling man shouts back: ‘I’m a Muslim, I don’t understand you. I speak Arabic and English. If you can’t speak in the sacred tongue of Islam, speak in English.’
The Amish farmer says: ‘Use two hands, you’ll get more!’
I didn’t know they had one like that in Ft Worth, I went all the way to Memphis!
