Heller (We, the People) win, 6-3. Or even 7-2.

Nothing official. Indicators point towards a ruling in our favor.

I predict that many gun grabbing liberals will be crying and whaling that this is a sign of the coming apocalypse.

I predict that those who love and embrace the Constitution will rejoice.

The ban will be struck down, but it won’t be a clean ruling. ....or not nearly clean enough, anyway.

The Second Amendment is clean. Anything the SC has to say about it is bound to be less than clean.

If the court interprets the law it should be a unanimous pro gun ruling. However, if left up to Kennedy one can never be sure.

Hmmm . . . can we read anything into the apparent delay in announcing this - I thought the decision would come down today.

Or rather, can we RELIABLY read anything into the delay?

Thanks in advance for any thoughts.

That would be my guess. We'll be in a better position but just slightly. If they strike the ban but allow permits, big cities will be like NYC. Technically legal but impossible to get.

Yeah. The people win. The SC rotates...no decision...liberal decision...conservative decision. Tomorrow is their conservative day.

Don't know about anyone else but I have some HUGE purchases to make 6/26 afternoon if this ruling goes the wrong way.

This is like watching history being made and I suspect that this ruling will eventually be more important than dropping the first atomic bomb.

...it is quite likely that Justice Scalia is writing the majority opinion in the Guns case and that Justice Alito is writing the opinion in the election case, Davis v. FEC....

The 5-4 today on the rape verdict is egregious. Tomorrow, I hope, will be a “conservative day” with Nino telling all of the lefties out there how it really is...

I pray I am right.

I'll predict that we'll win on the question of Second amendment guaranteeing individual rights at least 7-2 in our favor. I will also predict the gun ban will be ruled unconstitutional 6-3 in our favor.

Let's hope that I'm right that they rule in our favor.

I don't think it's anything that's going to affect the outcome of the decision. My guess is that knowing that the spotlight is going to be on this one REAL bigtime, they're trying to eliminate any minor typos or garbled syntax, the kind of errors that are usually corrected in slip opinions.

They've given the dissenting Justices time to carefully write their dissenting opinions, and really want this one to come out right the first time, so it's taken a little longer than expected, though the announcement IS being made in June, as previously expected.

The 5-4 today on the rape verdict is egregious.

It is not even necessary to consider the substance of the result to call this egregious.

The majority falls on its face on the law alone. Their standard--which is no standard at all--is cut from whole cloth. It is legislation from the bench.

And I oppose the death penalty in most cases.

I expect something like Bakke v. CA Regents, where they found for Bakke, while upholding `affirmative action’.
There should be some lecturing on the subject of federalism from the author of the opinion, with some utilitarian balancing of interests, while the dissenting opinions will be completely `off the wall’.
This is the cities vs. the rest of us and they have to `split the baby’ here. It should be a `Chinese fire-drill’ collection of opinions.

I have mixed feeling about Davis. OTOH, I agree with Davis that to make different rules if you’re the opponent of a self financed rich guy seems wrong, but to fail to do so seems like they’re taking a side in the election anyway on the rich guy’s side.

I guess this is one of those paradoxes that inevitably arise when the government butts in some place I don’t agree with and after that there seem to be no right answers to any of the problems.

if this ruling goes the wrong way

God forbid this goes the wrong way. That would make The Bill of Rights, not Of The People, by The People and For The People. But, of, by and FOR The State.

How could it be perceived otherwise? They can't pick & choose which is a state and which is an individual right.

Based on the horrible decisions SCOTUS has uncorked in this session, I'm banking on a 5-4 loss.

The courts need to be brought under control. If Congress won't do it, the people have to.

Stock up either way. It isn’t over, even if they decide for us. The struggle for your liberty and freedom only ends when you stop breathing.

The other side will NEVER STOP until they win. It’s our job (and will probably be our children’s job as well) to make sure they don’t.

We’ve been fighting this particular incarnation of slavery since 1848 when Marx/Engels wrote their manifesto; what makes ANYONE think a SCOTUS rulling will change the current crop of libcommie freaks’ minds?

Patriots need to have the same ferocity in defending their liberty that the freaks have in wanting to take it away.
