Stars like P.Diddy and Alicia Keys rallied up to show their support for Obama at the BET awards on Tuesday.

Diddy got on stage and started chanted "Obama or Die." He told the crowd, "If we all register and vote, we will have the first black president in the history of America."

Diddy wasn't the only one overexcited about the possibility of having Obama as our next president. As Alicia Keys picked up her award for Best Female R+B Artist, she said, "Together we can do anything," before adding, "Obama y'all!"

How can Oprah’s Obama lose? He will have the greatest cheerleaders ever in entertainers, news media, and other celebrities who will declare him successful no matter what happens in his tenure. The American people will never figure it out.

Not possible, no whites would receive such an award in the land of Hillary and Oprah’s Obama.

“When are we having the White Entertainment Awards?”

At the same time as legislators form a “White Caucas”, or see public service TV programming like “White Insights”.

Sean Combs proclaimed "Vote Or Die" in 2004 - and then didn't vote.

Alicia Keys is another wannabe like Obama.

She was also raised by her white mother after her foreign father (in her case a Jamaican, not a Kenyan) abandoned the family.

Like Obama, she attended an exclusive high school and grew up in an environment devoid of racial prejudice.

And, of course, she hates white people and America.

There is only one threat here: Mr. Obama’s remarkable lack of experience and knowledge about governing.

The only thing I’ve heard him say about what he would do if elected is this: 1) Up the FICA exemption to $250,000.00; 2) Not renew the Bush tax cuts when they expire in 2010; 3) Probably increase the tax on capital gains to 28%; 4) Gut the military; 5) Treat terrorists like criminals with all of the rights and privileges of a US citizen; and 6) Dream up some kind of national health care plan.

That is an expensive list...in more ways than one.

On second thought, all of the above is threatening. It’s also stupid.

Stars like P.Diddy and Alicia Keys...

I have a lot of respect for 'stars' like Diddly and Keys. I listen to them frequently.

That is why I am going to put on an asshat and pull that lever for a true American: Osama Hussein Obama.

Whenever there's an Obama rally close to my home I will go and have this great candidate autograph my Koran.

We have the Country Music Awards and Heavy Metal Awards, however, we don't discriminate, we let everyone in , not matter race, as long as they are good musicians.

A quote from Miss Keyes in an interview:

“I grew up in New York, and thank God, I never had to go through that in regards to, ‘You’re not black enough, you’re not white enough,’ the whole kind of white/black-mixture thing. I never had to go through that. I went through prejudices and all, surely. But I never had to battle with those two parts of me.”

Indeed.

However she went through one marriage with a physically abusive black husband (her father physically abused her mother), and another marriage with a philandering black husband (her father also cheated on her mother before he ran out on her).

Now she is living with a white man and has had her first child by him.

Thus her historical disdain for the white race may be under revision currently.

There are no rules at the BET Awards eliminating whites from the competition either.

However, 95% of the musicians involved in the CMAs will be white and 95% of the musicians involved in the BETs will be black.

That's just the way things are.

I'll point out that - as far as I can tell and I could be wrong - there were no black nominees at the CMAs this year.

Despite the release of Rissi Palmer's critically-acclaimed, straight-up country album.

That doesn't mean the CMAs are racist. And even if no white artists made the BET Awards' nominating committee's grade in 2008, that wouldn't have been racist either.

Johnny Cash never won a CMA after 1969.

They mean about as much as a Grammy or Rolling Stone do as to who is relevant in music.

Apparently the same as yours: that even if an awards show is clearly geared demographically to one ethnic group, it doesn't mean that the awards show is either racist or exclusionary.

And for the record, Charlie Pride won in 1971

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Country_Music_Awards

Roy Clark won in 1973. Clarence Gatemouth Brown never won but then he didn’t have any national radio exposure. Also the albums of his last 15 years were a mix of country, western, cajun, and swing (different songs, not songs that straddled categories). But no one could say that he couldn’t play or sing country.

Very sad that there are black people in this country who will simply vote for someone based on their race. It is as racist for a person to not vote for someone based simply on the color of their skin...Yet, they can not see the parallel. It says a lot about people like that...Ignorant and racist, just like Obama and his wife.

The BET Awards have only been around since 2001 - seven years. No black entertainer has won a CMA award in well over seven years.

And the BETs have nominated more white entertainers in the past 7 years than the CMAs have nominated black entertainers.

That doesn't mean either award committee is racist.

You sure keep trying to put lipstick on a pig...

From BET's own web site:

With a mission to build a global distribution footprint beyond our current carriage of 85 million homes in the U.S., Canada and the Caribbean, BET International is licensing BET content to television broadcasters on multiple platforms, developing distribution opportunities for 24-hour BET branded networks, BET branded TV blocks, and BET branded broadband and mobile offerings - adding locally derived content to the US mix - all to serve consumers of black culture globally.

Where does the CMA web site talk about "serving the consumers of white culture globally"?

No, I'm pointing out why the kneejerk assumptions of conservatives who feel rather than think are wrong.

Where does the CMA web site talk about "serving the consumers of white culture globally"?

The CMAs serve the consumers of only one slice of white culture - they cannot truthfully claim to represent consumers of classical music, klezmer, ceilidh, German Expressionist film, etc.

BET, on the other hand, is attempting to offer the entire spectrum of contemporary black cultural products to its consumers. Including the products of white artists performing in black cultural idioms, like Robin Thicke and Justin Timberlake.
