True Believer: Obama Was for Black Liberation Before He Was Against It
National Review magazine ^ | June 30, '08 | Stanley Kurtz

By this point, nobody can seriously suggest that Barack Obama was unaware of the hate-filled rhetoric emanating from the pulpit at Trinity United Church of Christ until it was, very recently, pointed out to him. Why Obama joined the church in the first place is interesting. Some of his defenders suggest he did so to advancce his career as a community organizer. The residents he needed to reach and the contacts he needed to make went to Trinity, so he went there too. In this view, Obama was merely being practical, not radical. Don't believe it. This was no matter of convenience or expediency. Obama's connection to the radical left politics espoused by Pfleger and Wright are broad and deep, and he largely approved of their political-theological outlook. Obama shared Wright's rejection of black "assimilation," and the pursuit of "middle-classness." His goal was not to repudiate religious radicalism but to channel its fervor into an activist organization. How do we know all this? We know it because Obama has told us.

These are a few of the many observations Kurtz made: Obama had ties to such radical groups as Chicago ACORN, whose lead organizer at the time, Madeline Talbott, practiced the sort of intimidating and often illegal "direct action" that ACORN remains famous for. Talbott is quoted as affirming that "Barack has proven himself among our members... we accept him as a kindrid spirit, a fellow organizer." Obama's early organizing work for the Developing Communities Project, was funded by "south-side Catholic churches." Clearly, this early work cemented Obama's close ties to Father Pfleger who threw his considerable support behind Obama's failed 2000 bid for Congress. Obama used his seats on the boards of a couple of liberal Chicago foundations to direct funds to groups that served as his de facto politiical base. Obama rationalized his ties to Trinity Church by citing its community-service programs. Yet in 1995 he was highly critical of churches that focused on food pantries and other services while neglecting the sort of politically visionary sermons, local king-making, and political alliance-building favored by Pfleger and Wright. If anything, Obama wanted to give the political visions of Wright and Pfleger greater weight and sbbstance by connecting them to secular-leftist political networks like ACORN. It could be argued that the new and supposedly "moderate" Obama of 2008 is the real Obama. Unfortunately, that argument is unconvincing. He could have joined one of the many less radical black churches on the South Side of Chicago if that was all he needed to launch a political career. Yet at every turn, Obama took a riskier path. That suggests he was operating from conviction. Trouble is, the conviction in question was apparently Obama's belief in the sort of radical social and economic views held by groups like ACORN and preachers like Wright and Pfleger. In 1988 Obama wrote an article that shows exactly what Obama hoped to make of his association with Pfleger and Wright. After expressing disappointment with apolitical black churches focused only on traditional community services, Obama goes on to point to a new activist direction. Give me 50 Pflegers or 50 Wrights, Obama is saying, tie them to a network of grassroots activists like my companions from ACORN, and we can revolutionize urban politics. So it would appear that Obama's own writings solve the mystery of why he stayed at Trinity for 20 years. Obama's long-held and audacious hope has been to spread Wright's radical spirit by linking it to a viable, leftist political program with Obama himself at the center. The revolutionizing power of a politically awakened black church is not a side issue, or merely a personal matter, but has been the signature theme of Obama's grand political strategy. After the 2004 election, there was some talk of the Democrats' "purging" such radical elements as MoveOn and Michael Moore. Far from purging its radical Left, however, the Democratic party is just inches away from placing it in the driver's seat. That is the real meaning of the fiasco at Trinity Church.

Give me 50 Pflegers or 50 Wrights

So Obama wanted 2 radicals per state, one white, one black. Both religious leaders, both believers that the American government needs to be torn down and purged of the white race.

Sounds like a socialist revolution to me.

"God Damn America, U.S. to Blame for 9/11"
--Rev Dr. Jeremiah Wright, Obama's pastor for twenty years

Wright: "In the 21st century, white America got a wake-up call after 9/11/01. White America and the Western world came to realize that people of color had not gone away, faded into the woodwork or just 'disappeared' as the Great White West kept on its merry way of ignoring Black concerns."

"America’s chickens... are coming home... to ROOST!"

The Real Story Behind Rev. Wright's Controversial Black Liberation Theology Doctrine
Monday , May 5, 2008
FoxNews/Hannity's America
[special Friday night edition--original airdate May 2, 2008]

(some key excerpts)

JOSE DIAZ-BALART, TELEMUNDO NETWORK: "Liberation theology in Nicaragua in the mid-1980's was a pro-Sandinista, pro-Marxist, anti-U.S., anti-Catholic Church movement. That's it. No ifs, ands, or buts. His church apparently supported, in the mid-'80s in Nicaragua, groups that supported the Sandinista dictatorships and that were opposed to the Contras whose reason for being was calling for elections. That's all I know. I was there.

I saw the churches in Nicaragua that he spoke of, and the churches were churches that talked about the need for violent revolution and I remember clearly one of the major churches in Managua where the Jesus Christ on the altar was not Jesus Christ, he was a Sandinista soldier, and the priests talked about the corruption of the West, talked about the need for revolution everywhere, and talked about 'the evil empire' which was the United States of America."

REV. BOB SCHENCK, NATIONAL CLERGY COUNCIL: "it's based in Marxism. At the core of his [Wright's] theology is really an anti-Christian understanding of God, and as part of a long history of individuals who actually advocate using violence in overthrowing those they perceive to be oppressing them, even acts of murder have been defended by followers of liberation theology. That's very, very dangerous."

SCHENCK: "I was actually the only person escorted to Dr. Wright. He asked to see me, and I simply welcomed him to Washington, and then I said Dr. Wright, I want to bring you a warning: your embrace of Marxist liberation theology. It is contrary to the Gospel, and you need, sir, to abandon it. And at that he dropped the handshake and made it clear that he was not in the mood to dialogue on that point."

We believe in a Black first philosophy and a Black Liberation Theology. We don’t worry about the criticism. We love all of those who labored in the Panther Party from the ’60s. From the article: REVOLUTIONARY HEROES

excerpt...

"On May 1st, May Day [1969], the day of the gigantic Free Huey rally, two of Alioto's top executioners vamped on the brothers from the Brown Community who were attending to their own affairs. These brothers, who are endowed with the revolutionary spirit of the Black Panther Party defended themselves from the racist pig gestapo.

Pig Joseph Brodnik received his just reward with a big hole in the chest. Pig Paul McGoran got his in the mouth which was not quite enough to off him.

The revolutionary brothers escaped the huge swarm of pigs with dogs, mace, tanks and helicopters, proving once again that "the spirit of the people is greater than the man's technology."

To these brothers the revolutionary people of racist America want to say, by your revolutionary deed you are heroes, and that you are always welcome to our camp."

Many critical thinking people have known for more than a year that Hussein Obama is a racist bigot. It is insulting for one to expect others to believe he was unaware of the racial component of black liberation and trinity united church.

It is often speculated that at the time he was seeking his street cred, he did not consider fully the ramifications of not only his associations with his church but those of other radicals. Once he was plucked from the streets of Chicage to become a national political figure, many were concerned with the associations. But, because of his color they felt he would be given the soft treatment. Those who began to promote him knew they could diffuse controversy by using race and subliminally appealing to those who may feel some degree of guilt, as Shelby Steele wrote in his book.

He is the worst possible candidate for the office of POTUS....

"It was at the Chicago home of [Bill] Ayers and [Bernardine] Dohrn that Obama, then an up-and-coming 'community organizer,' had his political coming out party in 1995. Not content with this rite of passage in Lefty World — where unrepentant terrorists are regarded as progressive luminaries, still working 'only to educate' — both Obamas tended to the relationship with the Ayers."

Meet Obama’s circle: The same old America-hating Left

From Sept 11, 2001, New York Times article/interview with Obama associate and friend, William/Bill Ayers.
Article title: "No Regrets for a Love Of Explosives; In a Memoir of Sorts, a War Protester Talks of Life With the Weathermen"

"During his fugitive years, Mr. Ayers said, he lived in 15 states, taking names of dead babies in cemeteries who were born in the same year as he. He describes the typical safe house: there were usually books by Malcolm X and Ho Chi Minh, and Che Guevara's picture in the bedroom; fermented Vietnamese fish sauce in the refrigerator, and live sourdough starter donated by a Native American that was reputed to have passed from hand to hand over a century."

(snip)

"Mr. Ayers, who in 1970 was said to have summed up the Weatherman philosophy as:

'Kill all the rich people. Break up their cars and apartments. Bring the revolution home, kill your parents, that's where it's really at,' is today distinguished professor of education at the University of Illinois at Chicago.

“He could have joined one of the many less radical black churches on the South Side of Chicago if that was all he needed to launch a political career.”

Oh, his political career would have still been “launched” but he would have summarily trounced by the Trinity-bred competition.

The elephant in this whole Obama thing is that he did exactly what was required of a black man to make it in Chicago politics, otherwise he would have likely been kicked to the curb.

Liberation theology is based on the belief that Jesus was a Marxist, or, since, Jesus came first, Marx was a christian. Liberation theology believes that capitalism is the root of all evil. And, black liberation theology believes that whitey capitalism is the root of all evil. From here we go to the dictatorship of the proletariat.

Who can say they know what Obama will do, what he will say or what he believes.

Now this is the whole reason to not vote for him. He will be anything he needs to be to get elected to the highest office in the land.

He is afraid to have a debate, and why-—because without his handlers he won't be able to compete.
He is all mouth when he has a prepared speech.
Without a prepared speech he is lost and will be certain to reveal what some of us already know. He does not have experience.

He wants to play the race card. That is a very old, worn out tactic. I don't know anyone that talks race.

He is so cocky—that is a cover.

What you say is absolutely true, and as the posted article suggests, the proof comes from Obama himself - his very own words and actions. I still find it incredible that such an empty suit, extreme radical leftist has been nominated for president - and is actually leading in the polls!

Very appropriate post. In addition to all his other extreme Left words and deeds it’s astonishing that a serious candidate for President of the U.S. could have such associates as Ayers, an unrepentant terrorist. In any sane society this would disqualify one for City Council!
