I’m not sure McCain would appoint a conservative to the SC.
McCain is too erratic.
President McCain will have to placate a Dem Senate. Thus, he will have to get their approval for any candidate, and they are not going to allow him to appoint other than moderates, at best.
[Had WE not arisen against the Miers nomination, the vote today might have swung the other way.]

Probably would have swung the other way. We still have a modicum of power left, re: the DPW deal, McCain-Kennedy, and so on.

COMMON SENSE IS DEAD
OBITUARY
Today we mourn the passing of a beloved friend, Common Sense, who has been with us for many years. No one knows for sure how old he was as his birth records were lost long ago in bureaucratic red tape.
He will be remembered as having cultivated such valuable lessons as knowing when to come in out of the rain, why the early bird gets the worm, life isn’t always fair and maybe it was my fault.
Common Sense lived by simple sound financial policies (don’t spend more than you earn) and reliable parenting (adults, not children, are in charge).
His health began to deteriorate rapidly when well intentioned but overbearing regulations were set in place. Reports of a 6-year-old boy charged with harassment for kissing a classmate; teens suspended from school for using mouthwash after lunch; and a teacher fired for reprimanding an unruly student, only worsened his condition.
Common Sense lost ground when parents attacked teachers for doing the job they themselves failed to do in disciplining their unruly children. It declined even further when schools were required to get parental consent to administer Panadol, sun lotion or a sticking plaster to a student; but could not inform parents when a student became pregnant.
Common Sense lost the will to live as the Ten Commandments became contraband, churches became businesses and criminals received better treatment than their victims.
Common Sense took a beating when you couldn’t defend yourself from a burglar in your own home and the burglar could sue you for assault.
Common Sense finally gave up the will to live after a woman failed to realise that a steaming cup of coffee was hot. She spilled a little in her lap, and was promptly awarded a huge settlement.
Common Sense was preceded in death by his parents Truth and Trust, his wife Discretion, his daughter Responsibility and his son Reason. He is survived by three stepbrothers: I Know My Rights, Someone Else Is To Blame and I’m A Victim.
Not many attended his funeral because so few realised he was gone. If you still remember him, pass this on. If not, join the majority and do nothing.

Definitely. And 2 of those 4 were appointed by Republican presidents.
Dissents were Justices John Paul Stevens [Ford appointee],
David H. Souter [GHW Bush appointee],
Ruth Bader Ginsburg and Stephen G. Breyer [Clinton appointees.

Savage lumped Kennedy in with Ginsberg, Breyer, etc. on the individual gun rights ruling by calling him a fascist, when in fact he sided with Scalia on the decision. If only Kennedy had made the correct decision regarding the death penalty and child rape.

I am of similar opinion. The homettes are too incompetent to call 911, so they employ an alarm company to do it for them. LOL

Cycling Tour episode of Python, where Gulliver first believes that he is Leon Trotsky, and then Clodagh Rogers, singing "Just an Old Fashioned Girl"--an old Lenin number--before the new International.

Dissents were Justices John Paul Stevens [Ford appointee], David H. Souter [GHW Bush appointee], Ruth Bader Ginsburg and Stephen G. Breyer [Clinton appointees. The list of those who should be up for impeachment for violating their oath to uphold, protect, and defend the Constitution.
Article VI:
This Constitution...shall be the supreme Law of the Land; and the Judges in every State shall be bound thereby... The Senators and Representatives before mentioned, and the Members of the several State Legislatures, and all executive and judicial Officers, both of the United States and of the several States, shall be bound by Oath or Affirmation, to support this Constitution;

Not this one, this is a computer programmer from England who moved here with his American wife, had a beautiful baby girl and back in 2006 shot the two of them dead in bed, the mom was wrapped around the baby, looked like they were perhaps taking a nap, this clown shot the baby, the bullet went through her into her mother, he then shot his wife in the head,,,,his defense attorney tried to say it was a murder-suicide on the mom’s part because she had post partum depression....the jury didn’t buy it for a second,,,he was sentenced to two consecutive life terms this morning....unfortunately GAYsachusetts does not have the death penalty........

You know all these SCOTUS Justices did was uphold the language and intent of the Constitution. That’s their job for goodness sake! They shouldn’t be praised and this shouldn’t be such a big deal. The fact that it is is a sad commentary on the state of our country.
