I was able to get a great deal of FACTUAL information about oil leases - although it was not easy. The industry is not very good at communicating.
I keep trying to link this. If this doesn't work just click on the Bulletin link. http://www.thebulletin.us/site/index.cfm?newsid=19809681&BRD=2737&PAG=461&dept_id=576361&rfi=8

OBTW, here's your link:

The facts don’t matter to Dems. The talking points have been sent out, and they want to stress that millions of acres have been leased but haven’t been drilled. They want to imply that all of this land has oil under it if only they would drill there. They don’t understand the nuance that the leased area has to be mapped and explored before they even know if recoverable oil is there.
But none of this matters anyway. The talking points have been issued and they are sticking to it. Don’t confuse them with facts.
Delusional or Deceptive?
YES!
IN SPADES . . . ON ALL COUNTS.
Not only that but to quote Anadarko CEO James Hackett, on Right Side News (http://query.nytimes.com/gst/fullpage.html?res=9B0DE4D7173FF93BA1575BC0A961948260 ) “You go onshore, theres places where we wait on permits for two months to two years. And even though its leased, it cant actually physically be drilled. And thats what people dont really understand. With the environmental restrictions and environmental lawsuits, there are lots of places where we hold leases, [but] were not allowed to drill because the federal government that leased it to us actually wont give us the permits.”
So the do nothing Dewbs, in siding with the enviros, are still holding up drilling and production.
Are they going to help us get more oil, use the leases they sold under false pretenses or side with the 9 enviro wackos reported in the NY Times today. http://query.nytimes.com/gst/fullpage.html?res=9B0DE4D7173FF93BA1575BC0A961948260
Sorry, the thick cut-paste got messed up on James Hackett it’s
