Border control will be the theme Saturday during the "Honor America" rally at the Santa Clarita Valley Civic Center from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.

The Honor America/Secure Our Border event is being hosted by the Santa Clarita Valley and Antelope Valley Independent Minutemen.

Among the speakers scheduled to attend are Monica Ramos and Joe Loya, wife and father-in-law, respectively, of Ignacio Ramos, who is in prison after shooting an allegedly unarmed illegal immigrant and drug smuggler on the U.S. and Mexico border.

The Civic Center is located at the corner of Valencia Boulevard and Magic Mountain Parkway.

Hi, calcowgirl. Long time, no news. Lou Dobbs did an update a few days ago, but I did not get home in time to see it. I find it unconscionable that the appeals court is taking this long. Johnny Sutton pulled a Mike Nifong and it doesn't take a legal genius to know that, at the least, Ramos and Compean deserve a new trial. And at the best, have their case thrown out as the two agents should have been dealt with administratively by the US Border Patrol, IF at all. It is my understanding that the agents have served sufficient time for all of their alleged “crimes” except for the use of a gun in the commission of a crime [10 years] which is the most obviously incorrect charge levied by Sutton's team. Sutton should get 10 years in jail for misuse of his governmental powers. But, he would get sprung ASAP just like the President's other pal, Scooter Libby. For the Appeals Court to deny the release of the Agents while their tediously long appeal is being adjudicated is just one more injustice [indignity] that these two Agents have to endure. What a sorry state of affairs!

I didn’t see Lou Dobbs, either. I’m still hoping that the 5th Circuit brings justice for R&C — and that Sutton-and-Gang get their’s sometime shortly thereafter.
