Fr. Michael Pfleger has reappeared on the national ABC program “Good Morning America” as some type of spokesman on race who is also against gun violence being touted as having “spent the last 30 years cleaning up his impoverished south side Chicago parish, fighting the presence of poverty, drugs, gangs and gun violence..” despite the dismal reality of the St. Sabina’s neighborhood floundering in a sea of prosperity in Chicago. Mixing partisan politics with religion has been combustible combination in Chicago for generations. The media practice of using a religious persona to somehow add legitimacy to a political cause is a failure, and in many cases obsolete.
David Axelrod is on the Board of Fr. Pfleger’s fundraising organization “Raising the Roof” at St. Sabina’s parish. Fr. Pfleger is on the Board of David Axelrod’s organization attempting to appropriate Chicago Park District property for a private charity. Fr. Pfleger is on a Chicago Police recruitment board, reporting to Mayor Daley concerning hiring and firing issues. Mayor Daley is a proponent of moving the Children’s Museum to Grant Park.
These are neither coincidental nor insignificant relationships. Fr. Pfleger relies on the support of the Chicago political establishment to build credibility with his media audience. In return Fr. Pfleger offers a ready made sympathetic “activist” for various Left Wing authoritarian causes such as protecting shoppers from low prices at Wal-Mart as dictated by Sen. Obama.
After Fr. Pfleger’s deranged buffoonery pandering to a receptive audience at Trinity United Church of Christ was exposed to a national audience, and a brief suspension from the Archdiocese of Chicago, there was a chance that Fr. Pfleger would move towards a clerical rather than political calling. That has not happened, rather Fr. Pfleger continues to command media and political homage despite his spiteful ravings.
Speculation has it that political influence was involved in maintaining Fr. Pfleger at St. Sabina’s and continue the Democratic Party access to a solid block of tax supported activists who purportedly are parishoners at St. Sabina’s. The media, including Good Morning America, play right along with this, ignoring death threats shouted by Fr. Pfleger to continue the fiction that Fr. Pfleger’s version of leftist politics is somehow representative of the Catholic Church and hundreds of thousands of Chicago Catholics.
We have seen the YouTube videos and can judge for ourselves the degree of sanity displayed by Fr. Pfleger. The media could reveal Fr. Pfleger’s political connections and death threats if they could find room on your broadcasts, but you have chosen to hush them up, as they do not follow the narrative. So how about it ABC (and WTTW)? Why not take a breather from promoting a thinly disguised political hack during this election?
Ah yes, the cleric that called on a mob to snuff out a legal gun store owner.
If Obama is truly a Marxist, the fact that he can’t campaign on it shows he is not a man and his cause is not worthy.
Same goes for Nation of Islam types, paid by Obama’s campaign who seek to advance their cause while slithering and sneaking in the shadows like animals. If they’re real men, and their cause worthy, they will advance it in full public view.
