Besides oil production, Taft Ca. is not an exciting town, Until now. A kid by the name of Jason Bird is shooting for the 400ft distance.

He’s pretty much done everything on his own, no major sponsors

I can see why he would have no sponsors . No one would believe it without seeing him do it . Amazing .

Well, Evel Knieval is no longer with us, to beat the record. This is a tad longer than Fonzie’s 14 barrels.

I was wondering when someone would catch the inference.

I don't so. The Devil is pretty busy these days, what with this being an election year.

Expect a Honda CR500AF to take the record back for two strokes.

‘Nads of Kevlar! And he makes it look so easy. I can’t imagine closing on that little black stripe of launch pad at break-neck speed knowing everything that could go wrong and what price would be extracted would be extolled.

It is no wonder humans have advanced so far so fast when there are a few special ones among us who brazenly push the boundaries. We’ve really stood on their shoulders in human development and progress, whether it was someone willing to explore where everyone said he would be eaten by wild animals, or whether he was willing to eat the fruit from a plant that everyone said would kill him.

There are incredible people out there. Simply amazing. I can’t call them heroes but some of them are just simply amazing.

People may think he’s stupid, crazy, whatever,
but I think its shows how great a CAN DO attitude is no matter the risk.

It seems that the US has lost this. We have now become a country
of what might happen, not what can we achieve.

My son has been into motocross and freestyle for about 11 years and I've seen hundreds of these sorts of jumps (none quite that far) and some insane tricks, but I have to say this guy's landing was super sweet. It's probobly the best I've seen...ever.

I raced what we called scrambles , really TT , in the early 60s . With the technological improvements of the bikes and the amazing skills of today's riders , the only stories of the old days that have any entertainment value seem to involve some kind of animal getting on the track . We had plenty enough speed to make it good and dangerous but overall the good old days were a joke compared to what these kids are doing .
