I had an opportunity to attend a campaign event for Allen West, a Republican running for Florida’s 22nd Congressional District against incumbent Ron Klein (D), yesterday and can tell you that I walked away feeling better than I have in weeks.
You see I too am one of the majority of Americans who believe that this country is headed in the wrong direction, a line Democrats and mainstream media love to toss around. But not for the reason they would have you believe like Bush’s policies, the war in Iraq or anything to do with Republican politicians.
No like most Americans, I believe that this country is headed in the wrong direction because of it’s elected officials who’s only real goal is to get re-elected, get rich off of backroom deals with lobbyists and corporations, to impose their socialist ideology, to keep our national security at risk by failing to secure our borders and enforce our laws for their own personal gain (whether it be for money or votes), the collapse of industry and the loss of millions of related jobs through unfair trade policies, and the every increasing speed at which our fundamental morality and love of country seem to be slipping away.
For almost a year now we have been bombarded daily by political posturing and empty promises by career politicians who say that they want to bring hope and change. The only hope that I have is that none of the current seated politicians get reelected and that there will be a change in whom the presidential candidates are.
I have seen first hand what devastation demagogue politicians and tyrannical dictators can impose on their people and their countries and truly believe that if we the people of the United States don’t wakeup and stand up we

I amm following Mr. West very closely. He has the right stuff to go very far towards repairing what is wrong in this country.
An anecdote: I am just a regular schlep like the rest of you. The other evening, after hearing about and reading more about Mr. West, I sent an email to him personally through his web-site. Within 2 hours I had a personal response from HIM (although I did not ask for a response, nor did I expect one).
This guy is the REAL deal and I hope and pray he is fortunate to go to DC and restore our Constitution.
Agreed! I am from NJ and I donated to his campaign last week. We conservatives need to stick together, now more than ever!
I concur. It’s rare these days to get a personal response from a politician. LtC. West is truly a diamond in the rough. And a future leader of the conservative movement.
NJ, eh? Born and raised there, but went to school in NC and have been there ever since.
In 4 years, one month, we hope to get out of here too. We have had enough!
