Although My.Barackobama.com carries the disclaimer, “Content on blogs in My.BarackObama represents the opinions of community members and in no way should be interpreted as endorsed or approved by the campaign,” it has been established that the Obama campaign exercises editorial control over the content. The moderators have, in fact, proven themselves capable of finding and removing, within 36 hours, material that is critical of Obama. “Exercise of editorial control” does in fact mean that the Obama campaign at least approves (tolerates, sanctions) the material it allows to stand, although it did not “endorse” it. The following piece was removed, not by the Obama campaign’s initiative, but only after it was re-posted on numerous other blogs as an example of the kind of material that permeates my.barackobama.com. In addition, the account of the person who posted it is still active as of June 29, 2008; this was apparently not sufficiently egregious to merit termination of his account.

The above was hosted on a site under the active editorial control of Barack Obama's official campaign.

This is exactly the same kind of issue--hate speech on a site under editorial control--that forced MoveOn.org to disable its prized Action Forum in September 2006. This shows how devastating this sort of thing could be to the Obama campaign, and there is plenty more hate speech where this came from.

As I’ve said, Obama’s going to lose because even though he’s a great scripted cheerleader, in the actual game he fumbles the ball. McCain on the other hand is like the quarterback who keeps throwing interceptions. Although McCain is trying his best to lose, the opposing team only has Obama and his butterfingers on defense, so McCain will stay on offense and eventually score the winning points.

This is because she is unable to do so, and her obvious motive is to remove hostile material from my.barackobama.com. The Obama campaign, of course, has every right to do so but this “exercise of editorial control” makes it 100 percent accountable for what it chooses to let stand.

Yes. The E-mails that were posted came from barackobama.com. Furthermore, my Hotmail account blocks all E-mail except that from safe-listed senders, and barackobama.com was put on the safe list to allow communication. It’s not a fake.
