what does the man on the street think of Obama?
6/29/08 | Jaysin1234

Posted on 06/29/2008 3:59:35 PM PDT by Jaysin

Can I ask some freepers to please tell me what the average American thinks of Obama? I mean the guy in the cubicle next to you, or your neighbor whom you casually say hello to while he's watering the lawn etc.....

I live in Israel now, so I don't really know what the good-ol Americans think. I guess it's fair to say that the black community is 95-99% Obama--but does anyone have any Hispanic or Oriental co-workers, neighbors, etc.. that have mentioned anything about their choice?

Other than the blacks, hollywood loonies, muslims, and some bleeding hearts--Are people really fawning over him as much as the media makes us believe?

I know my parents have never voted, yet I get bombarded constantly with anti-Obama emails from them. I asked them and they said they are getting older and care about the country--they dont like what they see in Obama or his wife. (they were never liberals--they just didn't care) they both registered and will be voting for McCain (hard to believe that he's the best we got!)

I also asked an old conspiracy theory anti-Bush, nut-job friend of mine and he said he will vote for Ron Paul. He said Obama sucks and he doesn't trust McCain.

Even my Boca Raton, yenta, BDS (Bush derangement syndrome) aunts and uncles are up-in-arms about Obama. If I can convince them that McCain is really a RINO then perhaps they'll vote for him, but I'm not holding my breath.

So any "real-life" stories or comments from "real" people would be greatly appreciated.

G-d bless America

Many that I have talked to are more imbued with the ‘I hate Republicans’ mindset. There is no actual rational to put Obama in charge of this country.

Obama brings the reactions to the surface:

1. More then likely Illegal Alien LOVES Obamao, as he believes Obamao will grant him TOTAL amnesty, literally.

2. Two college age summer co workers love Obamao, all they know is he’s not Bush, and he’s Black...no I’m not kidding.

3. Business owner despises Obamao

4. White co workers cannot stand Obamao, they think he is a Commie and Rev Wright really shocked them.

5. Legal Alien Co worker (from Guatamela) likes McCain.

Quite the gammut.

Where I work there are about 500 people, of which 75% are black (my estimate). I’ve spoken with many about the election, and most of them are for Obama simply based on race. None can name anything he’s accomplished, nor can they say what his plans are other than “change”, though they don’t know what that involves.

I know you're not from info. that my college kid shares with me (she's a Conservative and does not drink the Obama koolaid). It's like they are so hyped up about his race; being in on something "different"/never been done before that they have no clue how racist or mindless they are being. Twits.

Our 18 YO babysitter told my wife she is voting for Obama. When asked why, she had no reasons to list. [Deer in headlights]

I talked to a guy on the street for 30 seconds as we walked in the same direction last week. He was a lower than middle class hispanic. He complained about the price of gas and said he is voting for Obama because of it.

Those are the two Obamers I know of.

I work in a openly Christian environment though, and I don’t know anyone there who is Obasmic.

Exactly, it’s bizarre.

They love Obamao, but don’t believe Social Security will be around when they retire, when I point out that there tax money could be invested giving them a better retirement, I get a “right on”.

But then pointing out that Obamao doesn’t want that to happen, I get a shoulder shrug in return.

My mother-in-law, a very yellow-dogged Democrat and rabid Hillary fan, defender of Bill Clinton felt the same way during the primary. For once I thought we were on the same page when she first the first time in her life witnessed "media bias" "beating up" on her candidate. There were times I saw hope of a GOP conversion. After about 2 weeks of CNN brainwashing and Hillary just being on the stage with Obama, she is now saying "maybe he will get us out of this mess that Bush has gotten us into". The Dems will fall in line with the party...they always do.

143 Days of Experience

Just how much Senate experience does Barack Obama have in terms of actual work days? Not much.

From the time Barack Obama was sworn in as a United State Senator, to the time he announced he was forming a Presidential exploratory committee, he logged 143 days of experience in the Senate. That's how many days the Senate was actually in session and working.

After 143 days of work experience, Obama believed he was ready to be Commander In Chief, Leader of the Free World, and fill the shoes of Abraham Lincoln, FDR, JFK and Ronald Reagan.

143 days -- I keep leftovers in my refrigerator longer than that.

In contrast, John McCain's 26 years in Congress, 22 years of military service including 1,966 days in captivity as a POW in Hanoi now seem more impressive than ever. At 71, John McCain may just be hitting his stride.

Think about IT!!!

I would vote for a Republican or a Democrat if I thought they were a good person.
Here is what I see in Obama
1. Obama is a man who has chosen criminals and evil men for his friends.
2. Obama claims he is Christian. Yet Obama claims that the Hindu “monkey god” is his favorite God. I say Obama is true to nothing.
3.Obama will tell any tale, switch to any side, to become President.
4. I do not think that Obama will do well for this nation.
5. Obama is really a proven black racist.
Pray that God will help us all in America.

Living on the west coast, the people I’ve spoken to about osama hussein are scared of him like me. He doesn’t have any experience even though he cut his political teeth on the Chicago old world politics, his bigoted, racism against non-blacks, his connections to communism is frightening, his liberal domestic agenda of tax and spend makes me think of Mugabe and his antics turning a once thriving country into a poor, depressed 3rd world nation is petrifying. My friends and relatives on the east coast can’t stand him, some because of his race and some because of what was listed above.

Here’s the problem: what’s left? A lot of people don’t like McPain.

Neither McPain nor osama obama are trustworthy.

This group includes both black/white/bi-racial.... moderates and conservatives…

I have heard NO person state any objection to Obama for the color of his skin….it is his character and his lack of experience that seems to be the main basis of concern. They feel that Obama is simply not to be trusted to defend this country or support our allies.

FWIW, Lincoln’s national government experience was limited to a single term in the House 20 years earlier when he was elected President.

By that standard Obama has more experience than Abe.

I would love to talk to some of these bimbos and ask them what on earth they’re thinking. Oh, yeah. They’re not. That’s it.

Or, I wonder if they’re just sporting the stickers to show their political correctness to impress the other leftist soccermoms, and will pull the lever for McCain on election day.

Naaah.

First, the black folks where I work are positively giddy about Obama. I really don't hear much from the white folks at work. I did hear a man in a local tavern joke out loud, "If Obama wins the election, will we still call it the White House?" Nobody answered him. And this tavern was less than a half hour away from NYC.

It's my sense that about half of the white folks where I live either focus on distrust of Obama, or distrust of McCain. It's not about who you like, it's about who you fear.

One of my black co-workers admits he's voting for Obama because of his race. He admits to knowing nothing about him, nothing too in depth about any political ideology, has never voted before, and is an otherwise sensible and intelligent person. "It's about time" is his motto when it comes to voting for Obama. When I say "so you admit you're only voting for him because of his race..." he says point blank "yes." He explains that regardless of Obama's politics, this may be the only chance he has to vote for a black president, so he's going to make the most of it.

One of my other co-workers is a legal immigrant from Vietnam, and he says his entire family hates Obama and knows a marxist when they see one, and will never, under any circumstances, vote for Obama or any Democrat for President until the party is wrested away from leftists.

The white people I know who are voting for Obama are just clueless idiots. They have Bush Derangement Syndrome, believe that the MSM is "objective," and their motto is "anything is better than Bush." They have no concept of what a marxist is, and believe that any talk of Obama having a marxist mindset is "tin foil hat" time. According to them, communism is dead and no one in America truly believes in it any more. They've been indoctrinated their entire lives, and now can't even understand what they've been indoctrinated into. Otherwise, most of them are intelligent people. They are just totally blank slates when it comes to politics, and Obama, for whatever reason, appeals to them. There is also a tendency for them to admit that they think Obama will help "heal" the racial divisions in the nation (lol).

I've lost a lot of respect for a lot of people I know, including some in my own family. You cannot, under any circumstances, reason with an Obamabot. It is impossible. May as well be talking to a mindless brick wall. Most of his supporters can't parallel history, they can't be bothered to learn about policy, and they aren't even capable of using logic and reason to formulate their support of him. They are truly terrifying, mindless zombies when it comes to this election. The marxist apparatus in this nation has done a fine job of brainwashing a large segment of the populace.

I live in a blue town in a blue state. I know virtually no one who will be voting for McCain and probably 80% of them will vote for Obama. The people range from unemployed through blue collar types to professionals and small business people and of all ages. The intensity of the loathing these people feel for the Republican party is like nothing I have ever seen and it all seems to come down to three things, the economy, the cost of gasoline, home heating oil and food and the war.

I do have a brother-in-law, retired military, who will be voting for McCain, but the other military brothers-in-law and nephews are all voting Obama.

It will doubtless come as no surprise that my relatives in Europe, as very conservative as they are, are all Obama supporters, though that may have as much to do with McCain’s longstanding embrace of KLA Mohammedan terrorists and their money as anything else.

Yep, we got nothin'.

Wouldn't it be nice if there were a reset button for this whole presidency replacement thing?

Or at least a yes/no option on the ballot, rather then just yes or blank?

Imagine if both candidates were overwhelmingly rejected (an actual 'no' vote) by voters!

Then we could have a redo of the whole thing...

We can honestly report that of the 100+ people we are associated with in the working environment, that there isn’t a single one that has positive thoughts about an Obama Presidency.

It isn’t possible to repeat entirely here what some of those associates say in private conversation about Obama.

Here are some excerpted words however; “scary”, “frightening”, “insane”, and more, but you get the idea.

When it comes to McCain though we often hear the following: >>>Crickets<<<

It has always been this way, my parents the FDR libs (and ALL our relatives), me arguing with them, from my early childhood. I recall trying to convince them to vote for Ford over Carter when I was 9. My parents have no idea how I became a Republican.
