It is interesting to see the world’s worst human rights abuser call for a wall to stop people fleeing from their human rights abuse. "Tibetans fleeing from China come to Nepal on way to India through this open border," officials in Beijing were quoted as saying by ''Nepal'' weekly.

They want Nepal to stop the common people flee Tibet and take refuge under Dalai Lama in India.

But how about treating Tibetans like human beings? How about stopping illegal occupation of Tibet? How about allowing Tibetans worship their God and choose their leaders?

The Chinese occupation of Tibet must come to an end. Dalai Lama is the leader of Tibet. Tibet today suffers from Chinese atrocities, apartheid and blatant human rights abuse.

Not going to happen until China's infrastructure collapses, I'm afraid.

Once again, commies build walls to keep people in, but we can’t secure our borders from invaders.

I would think this would suit the Chinese fine. They’ve imported chinese in the past to breed out the natives, and make Tibet ‘part of historical China’ forever.

Ethnic cleansing not working for them? Why? This is puzzling.

Hmmm, trying to keep Tibetans in the country. Considering how the ChiComs have been trying to crush them, one wonders what would be the Central Government’s motivation in preventing the Tibetans from leaving. If the Central Government considers the Tibetans to be a source of trouble, why not simply allow them to leave? Are the Party leaders trying to force the Tibetans to “love Big Brother”?

Leave it to everyone to get the purpose of a wall proposal wrong. The wall is not to keep Tibetans from leaving persay, it is to stop them from coming back. If the Tibetans leave, good riddance, one less Tibetan. If the communists could dump all 5.4 million Tibetans into India, they would be overjoyed. The problem starts when they start coming back via the same un-patrolled passes to cause mischief.

My thoughts exactly. Why not let them escape? Obviously the ones who want to be there the least would be the most trouble for the Chinese. I guess it's more embarrassing to have streams of people leaving and talking about how bad it is in there than to put up a wall no one can cross.

And less trouble than shooting them as they cross 17,000 ft passes.

I don’t understand this at all - looks like the ChiComs are undecided on what to do with the Tibetians and other oppressed minorities. On one hand, they want to prevent them from leaving. On the other, they shoot the ones that try to leave.

The ChiComs are very neurotic. Perhaps their attempt to combine capitalism with communism is driving them into a near schizophrenic mentality. Communism requires very strict control to work (within its framework) and capitalism operates best with as minimal interference as possible. It must be driving the party aparatchiks nuts.

I have said before, in regard to the U.S., that combining socialism and republicanism will render both systems ineffective. Insofar as socialism and communism have a working structure that structure is degraded by the degree of liberty that is allowed. The same is true of our representative republicanism. Mixing in a little socialism or communism clogs the gears of the republican system. Either system alone would be superior to a mixed system. The mixed system just becomes a standstill of oppositional forces producing nothing at all.
