Obama to Give Speech on Patriotism Today (Don't Question His....)
Monday, June 30, 2008 | Kristinn

Posted on 06/30/2008 5:34:36 AM PDT by kristinn

Barack Obama will give a speech today about patriotism, said Obama spokesman Robert Gibbs on MSNBC's Morning Joe.

Gibbs said Obama will say that no one should question his or his rival John McCain's patriotism.

The speech will be given in Independence, Missouri.

A press release from the Obama campaign Sunday night gave this description:

“Senator Obama will discuss what patriotism means to him and what it requires of all Americans who love this country and want to see it do better.”

As if there is any reason to question McCain’s.

Bwahahahahahaha! Does anyone notice the irony here? If patriotism wasn’t an issue for Obama then he wouldn’t even have to give this sort of speech to begin with!!!!

“and what it requires of all Americans who love this country and want to see it do better.”

Oh I see so if you do not agree with Obama’s definition, then you must hate this country, and want to see it do worse. I see how it works... This coming from the man who attended the church ,for 20 years, of G.D. America... Now he is going to tell me how to be a good American. What a joke...

Where have we gotten in this question when we are told not to use judgement on someone's actions?

Obama has done more to ridicule this country's past than to honor it.

He's like a spoiled brat... no... he is a spoiled brat.

The MSM will immediately attack anyone who questions Obama’s patriotism or tell the truth about Obama’s life or Obama’s qualifications to be president or even uses Obama’s middle name.

Perhaps he should listen rather than give speeches. Listen to the soldiers winning in Iraq before he tells them how patriotic it is to retreat!

Patriotism -- off the table.
Middle name -- off the table.
Islamic background -- off the table.
Wife -- off the table.
Old positions on divisive issues -- off the table.

Hope and change, hope and change, hope and change -- it's all he's got.

As a matter of fact, Senator Obama, I AM QUESTIONING YOUR PATRIOTISM!

When you sit at the feet of a “minister” who damns America for 20 years, I question your patriotism.

When you establish and nurture relations ships with people like Bill Ayers, domestic terrorist, who is on recored as saying “Everything was absolutely ideal on the day I bombed the Pentagon”, I question your patriotism.

When you stand with politicians and prevent this nation from securing its own sources of energy, and thus become energy-independent, I question your patriotism.

When you publicly declare “I will stand with the Muslims should the political winds shift in an ugly direction” and say nothing about standing with our armed forces who are sacrificing themselves to defend our way of life, I question your patriotism.

Go ahead...you, Senator, or anyone else on this planet...refute this if you can:

Barack Hussein Obama is not a patriot.

I’m willing to bet that Obambi will try to define Patriotism as acting ‘collectively’ to help better your fellow man’s condition.

He might try that -- but he'll introduce a special exemption for military personnel who serve in units overseas, bringing freedom to people who have known only dictatorship -- he's against that sort of thing.

(Barack Obama will give a speech today about patriotism).

WOW he employees speech writers. I'm so impressed....

Here are things I know about Patriotism, that Obama does not know about Patriotism.
1. It is not issued by the Government.
2. It can not be taken away by the Government.
3. Being a Political Hack has nothing to do with being a Patriot.
4. It is much harder and difficult to be a Patriot then to be a Politician. More personal sacrifice is required.

For his big unity theme event, Team Obama choose a town named Unity.

For this patriotism speech a few days ahead of Independence Day, they’ve chosen Independence, MO.

Fortunately, there doesn’t appear to be a town or city in the U. S. named Labor, so they’re out of luck for a Labor Day speech. Unless they do it in Mexico, which does have a town named Labor.

Of course not, it will be the usual liberal blather about how “dissent is the highest form of patriotism” and more garbaage about how the Dear Leader gave up the chance to work for a white-shoe law firm to become a community organizer, which shows his TRUE patriotism. I could write this speech right now in about 5 minutes.

Are we now going to have a national dialogue about patriotism? Newsweek already got this ball rolling with their editorial from last Friday, so I am hoping that it is now time to take a hard look at Barry's idea of patriotism and also discuss the patriotism of Code Pink and other “peace” groups, and let's have a look at our Congresscritters, too (Delahunt comes immediately to mind).

I won't be waiting on one foot for the discussion to begin, since I am still using that foot waiting for the national discussion on race that Barry promised during his Philadelphia speech, in which he could no more disavow the Rev. Jeremiah Wright than he could his own white granny...still hopin’ though. I've got a few thoughts on the race debate and black culture these days, from Armstrong Williams on down.
