Gun Rights Upheld: Can You Hear Liberals Squealing?
North Star Writers Group ^ | June 30, 2008 | Gregory D. Lee

The Supreme Court’s 5-4 decision upholding the right of the people to keep and bear arms, even in the District of Columbia, has made liberals across the country squeal even louder than they did when the Soviet Union collapsed.

The case originated with a “Special Police Officer” named Dick Heller, who carries a handgun as part of his duties, when he requested a permit to store his firearm in his Washington D.C. residence for self-protection. The city denied Heller the permit. He sued, and the District Court ruled against him. But his appeal was granted by the D.C. Court of Appeals based on the Second Amendment. Both the District of Columbia and Heller asked the Supreme Court to review the matter and it agreed. To the chagrin of liberals everywhere, the high court upheld the appellate court’s decision and ruled against the city.

Prior to the ruling, in the highly unlikely event Heller had received a permit to store his handgun at home, a condition of the permit was that the handgun must be unloaded, disassembled or a trigger-locking device be placed on it. So, in the mind of anti-gun liberals, in the highly likely event you need to protect yourself while residing in the District, and someone breaks into your residence while you’re in bed, you would have to reassemble the parts to the handgun, load it or fumble for a key in the dark to remove the trigger lock while hoping the intruder doesn’t shoot you first with his fully assembled and loaded handgun.

But ... but, but,,, .... according to the dimwitted democrap .. it is against the law for someone to carry a handgun. So therefore that criminal that breaks into my home certainly won't have a weapon to harm me (God forbid he would break the law) ... and in fact he will sing me lullabyes while he steals all of my belongings.

How did these MORONS evolve???????

Barack Obama claims he favors the ruling, despite being on record in favor of a total ban on the manufacture and sales of firearms. He doesn’t trust the people.

And if the people trust him they're fools. His voting record in every office he has held is 100% anti-gun rights. If he will lie about this he will lie about anything, but then we already knew that.

Any idea how this vote would have looked had ‘Senator Swift Boat’ been elected?

If you are correct ... the only logical conclusion is that WE are just a half step removed from being morons ourselves

I think it’s important to realize how close this decision was. 5 to 4. There shouldn’t be any judges who’d try to rewrite the law on this issue.

This may cause the “liberal” gun controllers to think twice, as many of them realize that fecal matter obeys gravitional imperative, and they are on the downhill side.

Not merely a swing of the pendulum, this is more like an avalanche. The gates are open, and the only tactic that the gun controllers can muster is to call for repeal of the Second Amendment.

The troubling thing is, there may be enough toadies and uncertains to make that tactic possible.

What the heck, there are probably a goodly number that would call a new Constitutional Covention, and rewrite the Constitution altogether. Homosexual marriage, universal health care, taxes based on carbon consumption, with NO allowances for “cap and trade”, and no tedious business about private ownership of guns. And of course, the “Fairness Doctrine”.

Not necessarily, we did it out of charity, not because we like them, LOL.

You all might want to check this one out to see how truly stupid and arrogant liberals can get:

This is basically the handgun regulation here in the home invasion capital of the world in Ct.

Last year...

In Chesire, Ct, two paroles invaded a doctor’s house at 3 AM. Beat the father, tied him up and left him for dead in the basement. Tied the daughters, 17 and 11 to their beds and raped them. Raped the mother. At 9 AM , they took the mother to the bank and she withdrew 17,000 bucks, alerting the bank something was wrong. bank alerted the police.

Upon returning to the home, they slit the mothers throat and poured gas around the girls and set the house afire.
Copes arrived and set up a perimeter. The dying screams of the girls could be heard as the fire dept arrived.

The paroles crashed into the police barracade as they fled and were captured.

The father freed himself and stumbled out.

The way the crime should have gone was that the father shot the two bastards as he confronted them at 3 AM.

We have to undo the Ct gun regulations.

That is terrible. I didn’t hear about that, but I’m sure it’s because the MSM deemed it not to be a “news” story. Do you know the name of that case, or have a link? — I want to read more about it, to educate myself for the next time some whiny-assed liberal tells me that people don’t need to defend themselves “because the police will do it.” Thanks.

“The gates are open, and the only tactic that the gun controllers can muster is to call for repeal of the Second Amendment.”

If you read the Heller decision, you'll see that registration and licensing are OK according to the Supremes. As are restrictions on unspecified but “unusual” firearms or those not in common use.

I expect a rash of new licensing at the state level, and possibly national gun registration. Maybe national registration with a ballistic record.

Also wide open is requirements for “safe” guns with imprinting and personalized locks.

I don't think the libs will try for a repeal of 2A, no need for that yet.

All we need, though, is a decision with the words “undue/unnecessary burden” in it,

and voila! - every law may be challenged.

Ref: Abortion restrictions.

This is TOTALLY Insane ... there is not a stinking single politician Democrap or Repulican that doesn't have blood on their hands... their only use is for one purpose .. to get reelected.

I fault us coming this far from two things. The Power hunger All Authoritative control Democraps/Marxists (same thing) desire. The second is the spineless, gutless and clueless republicans who have over the years been toooooo afraid if their own shadow to speak.

Lock and load all 535 of them ... there is not enough combined intellect among them to jumpstart a moron.

"How did these MORONS evolve???????"

More importantly, how do they reproduce? Once we get a handle on that we can do something about their evolution.

Yes, I agree. Also, the precedent of striking down poll taxes and the current concept that a fundamental right can be licensed, with or without a fee.

Heller is overall an OK decision but it craftily leaves most state gun control intact, for now, until we can get a few more court victories.

Not so fast, there, big fella. IMHO H v DC will change the nature of complaints, but the Brady Bunch, et al ain't goin' quietly.

The advantage this decision provided is that there will not be a "killer" anti-2nd decision in our future. One that, with a single chop, eliminates our God-given right to self defense using the most prevalent weapon that our opponents might possess.

The efforts to control will go forward through more subtle means. Licensing, limiting sales, who can legally purchase, etc.

Don't scratch your attorney's phone number off the wall just yet.
