PRINCETON, NJ -- Americans see Barack Obama as better able than John McCain to handle energy issues and the economy, the two most important election issues in the public's eyes, according to a recent Gallup survey.

McCain needs to select Romney as his VP candidate and tell America that Romney will lead a high profile initiative to finally solve our nation's energy woes and become less dependent on foreign oil.
Sorry, DRAT, Energy will be the #1 ISSUE (not 11)
this is Bravo Sierra
“Americans see Barack Obama as better able than John McCain to handle energy issues and the economy”
It proves how little Americans know about economics or finances.
Can’t understand why anyone would think that the Obama strategy of doing the same thing we’ve been doing for 35 years would work.
“Energy will certainly be the #1 election issue this year. Right now, Obama has the edge.”
I wonder why he has the edge? Because he used the words “hope” and “change” more on this topic than any other?
People think OBAMA is better on energy?? I’m sorry, I need to go shoot myself in the head now. I just can’t handle the stupidity any more.
That’s because McCain isn’t being aggressive enough...he’s bought into this whole global warming BS, keeping ANWR off limits, not pushing hard enough for shale oil and tar sands and offshore drilling. He’s GIVING this issue to Obama and his spinmeisters in the MSM. Just giving it away.

If Americans are so soft headed that they choose Obama simply because he spouts these pretty sounding slogans then we are all in big trouble one way or the other. All he does is talk about how ‘we’ (government) must do more, must spend more, must control more, etc etc. If a majority of Americans buy this then we are in worse shape than anyone thinks.
Shouldn’t this be a BARF alert? I feel something rising in my throat after reading this tripe...
I give up.
Keep telling yourself Gallup. People are getting tired of the old No Drill Dems as they empty their bank accts into their tanks. This is where the election is going to be won or lost.
If you like $5/gal, Thank Congress. If you want $10, Vote Obama.

When Northerners fill their oil tanks in October and it costs $1500 people are going to want “change” and McCain better be prepared to take the energy issue on and I believe make it Romney’s issue while McCAIN focuses on national security, war on terror etc.
Everyone knows that prohibiting drilling in the United States will lower the supply. And all democrats understand that lower supply means lower demand. It's called a direct relationship.
</dismayed sarcasm>
or Obama
“Americans see Barack Obama as better able than John McCain to handle energy issues and the economy...”
I hate that people think that the president manages or “handles” the economy. WE manage it. We have a capitalist system and we should abhor statements referring to the government managing the economy. Central planning doesn’t work.
Polls show 77% want the opposite policies than Obama. Then many people think Obama can handle it better. I totally believe it, I think the liberals and the mushy middle of the roaders are absolutely stupid.
McCain needs to make it his issue. Appointing Romney to tackle it gives him the credibility that he will tackle it with a business sense with Romney.
The Obamaloon doesn’t even know which side of the well the oil comes out of. What sort of idiocy is this? That guy couldn’t make a light bulb light - given wires, battery, and the bulb. He is so very Harvard.......
If energy and the economy of the most important factors with American people, they need to be forced to sit down and watch the 9/11 tapes.
We’ll never forget!

Obama’s empty skull has moths flying around in it.
Maybe Obama supporters hope he can change the energy situation.
Romney would be a great pick. He is stable and articulate with a solid business background. Just what McCain needs.
If you like $5/gal, Thank Congress in Nov.

I guess demonizing and bashing oil companies and ignoring supply and demand are popular among the voting populace.
If I’ve said it once, I’ve said it a dozen times at least - the only “poll” that will mean anything will be the one held in November. The polls that are constantly being reported during this election cycle are so easily manipulated as to render them meaningless. B. Hussein Obama has stated 1) that the rapid rate of the fuel price increase is what bothers him (not that the price is so high), and 2) he will do nothing to address the issue of the high price of crude or it’s refined products (at the least, this is the essence of his statements). To say that the “public” believes that Hussein Obama has the best answers to this issue is a bald face lie given that there are a number of “polls” which indicate that as high as 70+ percent of the “public” wants the government to permit more drilling in areas currently off limits.
People believe Obama is better on energy because McCain and his people won’t fight them on it.
McCain would get Americans on his side on this issue by pointing out that Reid and Pelosi promised they would lover $2.29 gas prices, and now they are $4+.
McCain refuses to drill in ANWR. He lets governors control offshore drilling. He castigates oil executives.
Why should Americans think he is any better than Obama?
That would make a great bumper sticker......
aged 18 and older - translation: 18-25 MTV crowd.............
this is a typical propaganda poll or americans have gone beyond insane.....take your pick
We have to remind everyone:
Conservation is NOT an Energy policy.
Taxation is NOT an Economic policy.
Capitulation is NOT a Foreign policy.
I don’t buy it.
And I really do not care what the polls say-—I don’t believe them.
I will not allow myself to be frightened by a gaggle of Democratic girlie-men, whether they are in power or not.
I am in a tar-and-feathering mood.
I used to think the pollsters were skewing things toward Obama. Now I realize they’re just making stuff up.
;^)
But, they can tell you who got kicked off the Survivor island last week.
Obama wants even higher fuel prices. This guy is a Muslim lover and an America hater. He is dangerous.
Obama also has no clue about running an economy. He'll raise taxes which will damage the economy and result in lost jobs. I don't want this guy any where near the WH.
Problem McCain has is that he is very, very ineffective at comunication. I admit the media is on Barry’s side, but when McCain gets the microphone, he is unable to really communicate.
He has that little weak whiney voice that no one wants to listen to. Just like today, when speaking for himself after Weasley dissed him.
A weak, pathetic response.
LOL!
Getting along. Life's totally changed since my official sign-up date. (And I was around here for a long time before that! Back in the days when an open < B > tag spelt "DOOOOOM" -- or at least a little hilarity.)
TS
Which deaf, dumb, ignorant, and blind Americans are being brailled by Gallup?
< font color = "WHITE" > (and then leave the tag open so the rest of the thread would go blank?) The White Font of Death.
I’m with you.
“But, they can tell you who got kicked off the Survivor island last week.”
No kidding! They have a chronic case of SFB.
Hope and Change are not going to fill peoples gas tanks.
There are Americans that do and they have two brain cells as you say.
1 minute satirical Obama video here:
If Not Found screen pops up, just close it and push play.
Hurry before some diversity loving (RIGHT!) Obamaniac at YouTube pulls it.
the media can spin for obama
americans who love the country will vote for anyone to the right of obama.
Ha! This poll isn’t limited to just Americans (registered to vote or not), but simply specifies adults—thus presumably including legal and illegal immigrants.
