DURHAM, N.C., July 1 (UPI) -- A Durham, N.C., Democratic official and her husband face criminal charges in connection with alleged satanic rituals.
Joy Johnson, 30, a third vice-chairwoman of the Durham County Democratic Party and vice chairwoman of the Young Democrats, was charged Friday with two counts of aiding and abetting. Her husband, Joseph Scott Craig, 25, was charged with second-degree rape, second-degree kidnapping and two counts of assault with a deadly weapon for incidents in January and May, the Raleigh News & Observer reported Tuesday.
Mark McCullough, an assistant district attorney ...acknowledged that "part of the allegations are that satanic worship is part of this case."

I think this satan worshiping cult abusing lady who happens to also be a NC Democratic Party leader in her city - is the new poster child.
Well - as you know - NC is TRAPPED in the Demonic grips of the most corrupt political machine in the south which is closely allied with and helped by the likes of WRAL TV’s news people, the News and Observer’s alliance with them, the State Employees unions, and the teacher’s unions.
Throw in many yuppie, NPR listeners who want to appear “tolerant” of every type of behavior - except of course “fundamentalist Christian” behavior......
And we have a sad state of affairs in NC.
The Republican Party here is WEAK - for many reasons. But it has done well against tall odds in things like the NC Supreme Court justice races - so much so that now they did away with party designations of the Justice elections....because the Dems are all about HIDING the fact of their party’s affiliations when they can.
NC voted for GWB twice and voted down the select Dem Senatorial candidates for many many years - yet cannot seem to oust the “machine”.
Too many state government employees who “fear” Republicans will end their yearly (compared to private industry) outrageous salary increases, early retirement schemes, and iron clad retirement system which cannot be touched by any private company....
Easley just recently is having to defend his misuse of Taxpayer dollars for his own trips to Italy (over $190 K) and his wife’s multiple trips to Europe - with her assistant and state trooper - to Paris, and other locales - in order to “bring the arts” to North Carolina....
Maybe if a satanic cult operated directly out of the NC Governor’s mansion the Demonrats might be booted out - but then, again, probably not...
