A 22-year-old man who may be responsible for shooting at motorists in Garland, Mesquite, Richardson and Plano was in custody this morning, Garland police said. Garland police did not release the man's name but said he would face charges of aggravated assault, endangering a child and deadly conduct. Bond had not been set as of late Tuesday when he was arrested.
Police said a gunman who shot at three groups of motorists on Sunday and one person on Monday struck again in Plano on Tuesday on the Bush Turnpike. Witnesses told police shots were fired from a black Honda Prelude with an oversized chrome exhaust.
At about 9 p.m. Tuesday, a Honda pulled into the parking lot of a restauarant in the 4500 block of West Walnut Street in Garland. The driver got out of his car, walked to the restaurant and fired into a wall just below the windows. He then returned to his car and drove away. No one was injured, police said.
About 90 minutes later, a Garland officer saw a Honda Prelude about a half mile from the restaurant and made a traffic stop. Police said a pistol, believed to be used in the shootings, was found inside the car. The driver, who matched the description of the shooter at the restaurant, was taken into custody without incident.
Police were investigating whether the suspect is responsible for all six suburban shootings that took place over three days this week. Three people have been injured.
Shortly after 7 p.m. Tuesday, a woman was driving west on the Bush Turnpike between Central Expressway and Custer Road in Plano when a small black car pulled up alongside her, Plano police spokesman Rick McDonald said. Someone in the car fired a shot...

This won’t mean anything to you unless you are a resident of DFW but many of us are glad this nut has been apprehended. The guy was just pulling up next to random cars and firing...fortunately he was a horrible shot, and no one was killed, though one man was hit in the stomach and is still hospitalized.
No description of the perp, naturally, but he was driving a 90’s Honda Prelude with oversized exhaust per another report.
Wow . . I was in the neighborhood of 75 and Bush Turnpike just an hour before that woman was shot at. Scary stuff.
Unfortunately, I would bet next month's rent on the identity but I am not allowed to say it was a minority or I would get banned, hehehehehe!
Now that Texas has made it legal to carry a handgun in your car WITHOUT a concealed carry license, it is too bad the woman didn't fire back! Had he tried this on my wife, she would have emptied her 9mm into HIS car!
It's too bad that more Texans are not taking advantage of this new "right" in the state. These type of crimes would be eliminated.
WTF?
I don't care if he's white trash, a brown man, an African appearing man... a chinese man...whatever. DESCRIBE the perpetrator and maybe the public can help with apprehension.
Why doesn't everybody write in to FOX news at least, cause the other networks are useless. If I can eyeball a car and the window is down, unless the perp has on a mask, you can see his hand color or more.
Yes. I agree with you. One of the tv reports mentioned that the Garland Police were seeking tips from the community just yesterday. Problem was they neglected to describe him! Kinda useless to report the sighting of a small dark car in a metropolis of 6 million people.
I cannot be certain this was due to PC considerations or simply lack of a clear visual on the suspect; ie maybe the window was so dark as to preclude it. Anyway it will be interesting to see how it turns out, and moreover, hopefully additional charges can be added to put him away for a long time.

Yep. Favorite cars for these guys. 90 Prelude with a fart can for an exhaust!

I have my M&P 40 and three spare mags in the console. We are taking advantage of it.
DANG IT!... I thought John Kerry took care of this feller back in the 60’s?
THAT is funny!
