Psalm 33:12

Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord.

TOPICS: Culture/Society; Miscellaneous
KEYWORDS: freedom; pray; presidentbush; troops
Mighty God, Everlasting Father,

We thank You today, our one true God, for being the author of liberty, freedom, and justice. We know that You have set Your laws and commandments before us, Father, and we praise You for the wisdom and the understanding You gave our Founding Fathers as they established the government of these United States. We commit our nation to You, Lord, asking that You never move Your hand away from us. Please do not leave us to our own devices, but dwell with us always in the Spirit, that America may be steadfastly led by Your truths. Restore in us the hope and the truth that directed the freedom-loving patriots throughout our nation’s history.

Father, please bless our President with far-reaching wisdom and discernment as he makes decisions that will affect the future of this nation. He has asked for our prayers, Father, knowing that You do mighty things through the prayers of Your people. He understands that You are the source of all wisdom. He acknowledges that he needs that which only You can provide. Therefore, we confidently place him in Your arms, Father, and ask You to lovingly provide everything that he needs to do the job You have set before him. Shield him and his family from the devil’s work. Father, we praise You and thank You for this leader You have chosen for this time, and we ask You to make his testimonies and witnessing extend beyond the boundaries of America. May others from all nations seek that which he has found, understanding that he is a disciple of Jesus Christ Who has made him free.

Father, we pray Your blessing upon our service men and women who selflessly toil to keep America safe from those who hate freedom.. We pray for God-fearing men and women in our government and for the winnowing of those who blindly serve the devil. Bless every American, Father, who lives a life that honors You, who seeks to earn an honest living, who obeys the laws of this nation as well as the laws and commandments You have set before us. We confess that the strength of this nation lies solely in our obedience and our relationship with You. Give us courage to persist in prayer and to continue to lift up our nation and its leaders to You. You are the only wellspring that can provide eternal life through the blood of Jesus Christ. Thank You, Father, for the wonderful gift of salvation that You have offered to all of us.

We praise You for Your faithfulness to us in our personal lives as well as in the 232 years of our nation’s existence. We pray Father, that in the coming years, America will grow ever closer to You and that souls from every nation may know You through the collective testimony of Your Redeemed. In the Name of Jesus Christ we pray, Amen.

Amen ...
any words I add will just be gravel onto such a wonderful prayer, but I'll sprinkle some gravel on anyways:

Dear LORD and Father, we thank you for your many blessings, infinite patience, mercy, and love. We know it is you who sets up our leaders, and its by your mercies and compassion that we are not consumed.
We thank you for President Bush, and we ask that you guide him with wisdom, and protect him from enemies domestic and foreign. Let him put all his trust on you - and we pray for your mercy.
Please watch over our servicemen and women. In this sin-cursed world they seek to protect our country, and we ask that you protect them as well.
We pray for those trapped in darkness, and that you 'shine the light of knowledge of God in the face of our LORD Jesus Christ' upon them.
Please have mercy on this Country. Renew our hearts, and help us to lay aside every weight and the sin that so easily besets us -- and to keep our eyes on the Author and Finisher of our faith - our Lord Jesus. We pray this in HIS Name.

AMEN SISTER AND GRACE TO ALL CHRISTIAN PATRIOTS!

“Our heart shall rejoice in Him.”
- Psalm 33:21

Blessed is the fact that Christians can rejoice even in the deepest
distress; although trouble may surround them, they still sing; and, like
many birds, they sing best in their cages. The waves may roll over them,
but their souls soon rise to the surface and see the light of God’s
countenance; they have a buoyancy about them which keeps their head always
above the water, and helps them to sing amid the tempest, “God is with me
still.” To whom shall the glory be given? Oh! to Jesus-it is all by Jesus.
Trouble does not necessarily bring consolation with it to the believer,
but the presence of the Son of God in the fiery furnace with him fills his
heart with joy. He is sick and suffering, but Jesus visits him and makes
his bed for him. He is dying, and the cold chilly waters of Jordan are
gathering about him up to the neck, but Jesus puts His arms around him,
and cries, “Fear not, beloved; to die is to be blessed; the waters of
death have their fountain-head in heaven; they are not bitter, they are
sweet as nectar, for they flow from the throne of God.” As the departing
saint wades through the stream, and the billows gather around him, and
heart and flesh fail him, the same voice sounds in his ears, “Fear not; I
am with thee; be not dismayed; I am thy God.” As he nears the borders of
the infinite unknown, and is almost affrighted to enter the realm of
shades, Jesus says, “Fear not, it is your Father’s good pleasure to give
you the kingdom.
“ Thus strengthened and consoled, the believer is not afraid to die; nay,
he is even willing to depart, for since he has seen Jesus as the morning
star, he longs to gaze upon Him as the sun in his strength.
Truly, the presence of Jesus is all the heaven we desire.
He is at once

“The glory of our brightest days;
The comfort of our nights.”
