Some Houston residents are upset after Korans were left on the doorsteps of hundreds of homes in their neighborhood as part of a campaign to educate people about Islam.
Residents of Braes Timbers in southwest Houston began finding the holy books two weeks ago, MyFOXHouston.com reported. The Korans came with a note saying they had been left by the Book of Signs Foundation, which claims to have distributed 30,000 free copies of the texts to residents throughout the city.

I’d take it, hang onto it, read it, and use it to educate myself about how backward and homicidal a fruitcake Mad Mo was. They do have the right to tract the neighborhood as long as Jehovah’s Witnesses and Mormons and any other religious group can do the same thing. It’s just a very inefficient way to gain converts, if that’s what you’re inclined to do.

I can’t imagine real Muslims doing something like this. They know that people who get a Koran unsolicited may desecrate it.
We have fire places here in Colorado.
I have, and occasionally read from, a copy of the Quran (”Know your enemy”).
But I have a few suggestions for those who do not wish to keep the ones given to them:
1) TP
2) Kindling/firestarer
3) Bird cage
4) Litter Box
5) Paper Airplanes
6) Paper Hats
7) Paper Boats
I’m sure others can think of many other uses which will help protect our environment by preventing the wasting of the paper used in these vile books.
Its a free country, don’t like it, trash it.
These residents should find out who in their area is part of this muslim group, and drop off a Bible at their houses every day for a year.

It’s CAIR. They probably did it KNOWING that some would desecrate it. That way, they have a reason to be offended and outraged in the future.

I'd take this as a threat. My first thought is, "are you leaving this book at my door as a message to tell me you're here in my neighborhood, and next time something more violent can be left there?"
Seriously, since this is, "a very peaceful way of conveying a message", is there a violent way of conveying "a message". And what is this message you're trying to convey?

I can only imagine the unmentionable desecrations that took place wehen Joe Sixpack picked it up off his doorstep, and thought about his nephew, Kenny, who was blowed up in Iraq.
Most will get thrown away or stashed somewhere and forgotten about.
Also, it kind of makes me proud of this country when anyone can do this and not get decapitated. I’ll think we are really geting somewhere when there is a Roman Catholic cathedral in Ridyah (-5 sp)

My personal choice is #4, litter box. With four cats, the litter can get a bit expensive. :-)

Perhaps it isn’t a desecration if the Koran is in Enlish and not in Arab with the flowery way they write.

Big mistake on the Muslims part, if these are true copies(and not edited versions)of the Koran they are hurting their own cause because as soon as anyone with an IQ over 10 reads the Koran they will realize what a muderous cult that religion really is.

The residents need to stack up all the Korans into one pile and burn them on Independence Day. Call it sane and safe fireworks and wait for the liberal nuts and advocates to start passing out lawsuits.

It’s a desecration to the koran to put it on the floor. At Gitmo guards have to handle it respectfully with gloves and provide inmates with what I think was a type of surgical mask so that they have a little holder for their korans and hang them up—saw that in a picture of what a cell really looks like recently. But then with islam why should we expect consistency?
Build a bonfire, film it, and post the video on YouTube.

What is baffling to me is that they are so idolatrous of their Book, in some countries they employ people to go though rubbish to make sure that no used Qurans are made into pedestrian or vulgar articles. Given that CAIR is forever outraged at mere RUMORS of Koran flushing, I cannot understand why they would expose the Books to the treatment they are certain to get from people who do not think 9-11 was a joke- Or from people who righteously despise them for a variety of other reasons.
Were I to get one, Yes, I would read it as far as I could, but I doubt it would earn a treasured place on my bookshelves, and I suspect that if I hit too many passages that got me cranked up, a trip to the Range would probably be in order.

Oh my heck, this is such a set-up!! Once they have any ‘evidence’ of someone ‘desecrating’ this precious book all hell will break loose.
btw, I thought we’d been told ad nauseum that this book was too precious and sacred to be treated in such a casual way...... leaving it on doormats???
Sounds to me like CAIR is getting ready to persecute this entire community as soon as they can round up any evidence that the precious book has been damaged or stepped on, etc.
