Washington: Two officials of the US intelligence agency CIA have claimed that Al Qaeda chief Osama bin Laden was on death bed as he suffered from a terminal kidney disease, and may live only for a few months.
The intelligence agency also managed to get the names of some of the medications Bin Laden was taking.
One of the two CIA officials familiar with the report that came out six-nine months ago, quoted it as saying, “Based on his current pharmaceutical intake we would expect that he has no more than 6-18 months to live and impending kidney failure.”
Pakistan President Pervez Musharraf was the first person to claim that Laden suffered from kidney disease and was on dialysis.
“It’s trying to make a diagnosis from thousands of miles away with only fragments of the medical chart,” the Time magazine quoted Paul Pillar, the former top analyst and deputy director of the CIA's counter-terrorism centre, as saying.
Frances Fragos Townsend, who was chief of the White House Homeland Security Council said, “I've read all the same conflicting reports that people have talked to you about. I never found one set of reporting more persuasive than another.”
I knew the CIA would get him sooner or later .
Does that mean I’m not going to get to see him throw out the first pitch in the 2008 World Series?

It is kind of hard to tell the prognosis of a patient based solely on a medication list.

Why is he not found. American has the resources and the will power to find him. I can’t believe one person can hide for 7 years and billions spent. But we know his medications, Geez.

if they know his pharmaceutical intake, can’t they trace where he is and kill the sucker. It would be even better if we could catch him and parade him around like Saddam, then ....

I vote for seeing him thrown out of the Goodyear Blimp onto the field right before the first pitch of the 2008 World Series.
I would find it much more satisfying if I could see a picture of the desert boots of several Delta Force operators standing over Osama’s corpse with 2 entry wounds to the forehead, but that’s just me.

It would give you a good guess, I believe. You could examine the indications of each med and calculate the dosage to see what symptoms he’s trying to alleviate and conditions he’s being treated for.
It would be amazing to see how high he bounces after he hits the ground.
You are on to something . Why not just poison him with the same prescription medicine our FDA allows from Red China ?

We could chip in and send him some TOMATOES.
If he’s alive, he can give us a videotape of him holding up a current newspaper. I think he gets the NY Times delvered.
Audiotapes don’t cut it.
And quite frankly, neither does the CIA.

Yeah, we just stake out the pharmacy he goes to and after the prescription is filled but before he picks them up, our guys sneak in and see what he is coming to pick up.

I believe there were “kidney failure” reports a couple of years ago. How often can a Moslem die of kidney failure?

That seven years is from 9/11 only. I think I remember hearing Clinton saying that he’d devoted years to rolling Obama up. If the most powerful man on the planet spent as much time as Clinton claims he did, directing the CIA and others to find Obama, he would’ve been found.
I think he lost it at Tora Bora. It would not have been politically judicious for him to have been killed at that time, however. His death would have set up a possibily irresistible cheer on the left/in the MSM that we had “won the war” and it was time to “bring the troops home!” because MSM had defined the purpose of the war as to Get OBL and Bush, as articulate as ever, had let that ride, even said some things that seemed to accept that formulation.

Thinking the same thing. We know what prescriptions are being filled for him, yet we have no idea of his location?
