A MYTH THAT KILLS
New York Post ^ | 03 july 08 | Micheal Fumento

THE Senate is near to pass ing a massive $50 billion Emergency Plan for HIV/ AIDS Relief - a bill whose priorities are based on myth, just like virtually all anti-AIDS efforts worldwide.

The world's top AIDS bureaucrat recently admitted the truth: "It is very unlikely that there will be a heterosexual epidemic" outside Africa, Kevin de Cock, director of the World Health Organization, told London's Independent newspaper. His bosses at the United Nations issued an official denial - but couldn't truly challenge his science.

There are billions spent worldwide on AIDS “relief”. IMHO it’s like Oil for Palaces. Where exactly is all this money going?
Certainly there’s been enough money shelled out that large parts of Africa could have been completely modernized.

Why is it that all the diseases that AIDS kills with in America are different than the diseases that AIDS kills with in Africa?

The only thing in common is HIV anti-bodies.

Could it be that HIV is a simple STD that does not kill, but is being blamed for being caught in common with other more deadly diseases that are also STD’s in a massive scam for research money and pharmicutical aids for AIDS.

The cost to “keep AIDS in check” from the doctors is a massive $27,000 a year per person. I suspect it is all a scam.

I remember back in the 80’s when the “epidemic” was at it’s height, hearing these “AIDS experts” on the news saying that within 10 years every person in American will either have AIDS or know someone who has it.

It’s a scare tactic with millions of dollars attached to it. Just like the resurgence of the “global warming” scare.

Realistically speaking, AIDS is becoming more and more a sub-Saharan Africa problem. Most of the money being spent on HIV/AIDS is not going to research, but to subsidize pharmaceutical drugs to the millions in Africa with the disease.

In turn, one of the reasons that HIV/AIDS is so prevalent in Africa is because of other STDs. The incidence of open sores on the genitalia is widespread, which makes transmission much easier. Most of the rest of the world doesn’t have this problem.

And this means that until a major effort is undertaken to control these other venereal diseases, HIV infections will continue to be abnormally high, and in diverse groups, not just homosexuals and IV drug users.

So where is the money going? This is somewhat scandalous.

US pharmaceutical companies have long used Africa as a dumping ground for expired drugs, excess drugs and stocks of newly outlawed drugs. On arrival in the continent, they immediately become black market and are sold on the street, almost at random. Abusers will take handfuls of pills, without any idea of what they are, but hoping to get high.

AIDS drugs, most of which are manufactured by US companies, are being given away in Africa, to prevent other countries from developing their own pharmaceutical companies by violating patent and making those drugs themselves, then selling them at a fraction of the cost.

So most of this $50B is a direct subsidy to “big pharma”, and an effort to protect the US international pharma market. It does not go to Africa, but right back into the US economy.

Science has been subverted to political ends in three major areas. Politically-driven conclusions, widely known to be false at the time, have become the basis for far reaching policies that make no objective sense. These three areas are:

The Heterosexual AIDS vector,
Secondhand Smoke as a “Class A Carcinogen”, and
Human-Caused Global Warming

Each of these knowing and policitally driven errors is costing us Billions of Dollars a year and is being used to drive society-transforming changes. The days when we could just assume that “scientists” were playing it straight is long since gone. They have become a corrupt part of the political process, and have squandered their credibility.

Why is there a privileged disease? Because it was originally called “Gay-related immune deficiency”. The original name was accurate, but had to be changed because it didn’t protect a victim group from the consequences of its own actions.

It’s more than a bit preposterous to spend additional funds on the cure for a disease which can be eliminated by a single, common aspirin. Hold it between your butt cheeks and don’t let go. Problem solved.

Ruteikara says, “The proportion of Ugandans infected with HIV plunged from 21 percent in 1991 to 6 percent in 2002. But international AIDS experts who came to Uganda said we were wrong to try to limit people’s sexual freedom. Worse, they had the financial power to force their casual-sex agendas upon us.” And now, “as fidelity and abstinence have been subverted, Uganda’s HIV rates have begun to tick back up.”
Unbelievable.

Absolutely.

McCain called the drug companies "the enemy." Hey, John - the US military knows how to handle the enemy - just bomb them! Now explain to me how that is gonna help me control my blood pressure? No sale, John.

The framers of the Constitution divided the country into three parts - "Congress," "the States," and "the people." If you aren't part of the federal government or the state government, you are part of "the people." And that includes the pharmaceutical companies - whether you capitalize the name and put "Big" in front of it, or not.

CDC wants all patients admitted to a hospital tested for AIDS. I’m more worried about TB than AIDS when I get on a hospital elevator as TB and Hepatitis C scare me a lot more than AIDS, but they aren’t politically correct. We’ll hepatitis C is PC in certain groups.

Donna Shalala:
Grossly exaggerated AIDS threat.

Secretary of Health and Human Services

Following a year serving as Chair of the Children's Defense Fund (1992-1993), Shalala was appointed United States Secretary of Health and Human Services in 1993 by President Bill Clinton. She served in this role for all eight years of his administration, becoming the nation's longest serving HHS Secretary....

In her role as HHS Secretary, Shalala frequently drew criticism for her positions, which were seen by some as too liberal. The Washington Post labeled her "one of the most controversial Clinton Cabinet nominees."

She had no more business being Secretary of Health and Human Services than Crusty The Clown. Read her linked bio, 100% unqualified.

The last I checked, AIDS in Africa was still be diagnosed by symptoms rather than by lab tests.

Now we can give great big contracts for billions to people who will front various businesses, organizations, and individuals.

It’s the way money scams work.

It’s wierd, I saw a headline in the last couple of days about mental health clinics in Africa wanting to treat both mental health AND HIV now because, they say, late stage HIV infections cause psychosis or some such...I wonder if that’s just someone trying to get on the gravy train.

While that chart is probably a reasonable representation with cancer removed from the equation, it *could* be considered misleading. My observations and anecdotal evidence seems to indicate that breast cancer alone has a higher funding rate than that for all prostate problems combined. Breast cancer research is conspicuous by its absence.

I do like the chart, though. I might use it elsewhere, if that’s OK with you.

You cannot raise live HIV in Human subjects beyond two weeks because the immune system kills the virus.

I think that HIV is not the cause of death, but is a simple, low grade viral infection that is passed along with multiple immune diseases.

By focusing on HIV we are targeting the wrong issue and that is why the most studied disease in mankinds history has been evading our cures.

You missed my point my FRiend...

HIV wasn’t believed to be the cause of death. AIDS was. HIV was believed to have caused AIDS.

Magic Johnson has had HIV for the better part of 20 years and he’s yet to contract AIDS or suffer any noticeable ill effects.

I was agreeing with part of your point about HIV (that it doesn’t kill) and making my own (that it probably doesn’t cause AIDS, either).

HIV wasn’t believed to be the cause of death. AIDS was. HIV was believed to have caused AIDS.

AIDS is not a disease, but a syndrome, i.e. a certain set of symptoms. The disease that causes AIDS is HIV infection. It's the same as loss of hair, vomiting etc. are a syndrome (acute radiation syndrome), while the underlying disease is radiation poisoning. The connection between HIV and AIDS is scientifically well established: 98+% of all people infected with HIV will - without medication - develop AIDS. The problem, as mentioned before, was that the diagnosis "AIDS" in Africa was made by symptoms, rather than antibody tests, and thus inflated (due to malnutrition etc., which can lead to similar symptoms). For those with an antibody or PCR test, the connection between HIV and AIDS is undisputably sound.

Magic Johnson has had HIV for the better part of 20 years and he’s yet to contract AIDS or suffer any noticeable ill effects.

True. Depending on the genetic markup of the patient and on the specific strain of the virus, latency periods (without medication) vary greatly, e.g. from one to twenty years (between infection and developing AIDS). Approx. one percent are long-term (20+ years) nonprogressors, approx 0.3% will never develop AIDS at all. Thus, even if HIV jumped the species barrier (from ape to human) hundreds of years ago (i.e. before antiretroviral drugs), mankind as a whole could never be wiped out ;) .

I was agreeing with part of your point about HIV (that it doesn’t kill) and making my own (that it probably doesn’t cause AIDS, either).

Aaaah, so called AIDS denialism. Usually a way for quacks to profit from AIDS without having to learn medicine. As said before, there's money in HIV, and there are enough unscrupulous individuals wanting have a part in it by selling herbal cures and sh*t. Any medical professional (i.e. epidemiologist or research scientist) will debunk their whole claims within less than 5 minutes.
