Today the President attended the groundbreaking ceremony at Walter Reed National Medical Center in Bethesda, Md. The nearly one billion dollar project will expand the Bethesda Naval Medical Center in Maryland, and lead to the closure of the current Walter Reed Army Medical Center just five miles away in Washington.
In the afternoon he went for a bike ride at Bethesda.

CAN BARACK BUY THE PRESIDENCY?
By KARL ROVE

On the money front, how do Sens. Obama and McCain stack up? No contest, it seems. Since the campaign began, Mr. Obama has raised a staggering $295-plus million, versus Mr. McCain’s almost $122 million. But that’s misleading.

HAGIN LEAVING WHITE HOUSE
Mike Allen
Thu Jul 3, 12:04 PM ET
Joe Hagin, a White House deputy chief of staff who is one of the longest-serving members of President Bushs inner circle, told friends Thursday morning that he is leaving later this month to take a corporate position.
Hagin has been the only absolute constant at the presidents side since his campaign days, and he has seen it all. He has been literally right next to Bush during many of the most memorable moments of the presidency, kneeling in the rubble at Ground Zero as Bush spoke into a borrowed bullhorn on Sept. 14, 2001.

Those pictures of our wounded Marines and sailor bring tears to my eyes. God bless them.
Thank you, I love my toasters. They are perfect
Congratulations yet another toaster for you.
Holiday weekend, in fact lots of folks took the whole week off. I was out and about today and there was tons of traffic already.
Snugs, Thanks for this special dose which included our President with some wounded troops. I note that some of them had grandparents in addition to the parents. And a couple of them featured folks from my area of the country. That blanket on the bed of the soldier from TX is very special.
Good evening
My pleasure
Thanks, I like the second and the third White House photos the best, but I can’t decide which one. So I just let you choose
Thank you, Snugs, for the toaster.
You are treasure beyond words!
Do you have any more pictures of McCain in this visit? It looks like he took my advice with regard to wearing a dark suit and black tie. And the suit looks better tailored to him, but I'd need to see more pictures.
A Jeb Bush sighting. Very interesting. He’s been laying in the weeds for months.
Looks like he’s aiming for a Cabinet spot (or a VP slot)?
Thanks for all the pictures.
And lots more here: MC CAIN PHOTOS 7/03
