Veteran radio talker Darla Jaye, who just celebrated her third anniversary as the host of "The Darla Jaye Show show weekdays from 9-11 a.m. on KMBZ-980, will be moving her show to the evenings. SHE WILL REPLACE SYNDICATED TALKER MARK LEVIN. Jaye's new show, "980 Live With Darla Jaye," will be expanded to three hours and run from 7-10 p.m. Her current producer, Brian Mallicoat, will move with her to the new time slot. Jaye will be on vacation until her show commences July 14. Syndicated talk show host Glenn Beck will be inserted into the 9-11 a.m. slot vacated by Jaye. He was once associated with KCMO-710 AM.

No one will listen to Darla’s outragiously inflated opinion of herself.

I'm outraged. That does it. That's the last straw. Someone needs to know we mean business. Let's storm the place. Take it back. Tell those bastards we mean business. After all, who are THEY to make these kinds of decisions? They can't do this! This is America!
Yawn....

Hey KC’ers...is there another AM talk radio station in the area that you can lobby a slot for the Mark Levin show?

I like listening to Mark Levin during my drive home from work. If they ever bump him in my neighborhood, it will make the drive less fun.

Hey KCers...is there another AM talk radio station in the area that you can lobby a slot for the Mark Levin show?KMBZ has a long history of getting rid of conservative or libertarian talk show hosts... IIRC, this includes "The Black Avenger," G. Gordon Liddy, Brian Wilson (he actually moved to KC during his time on the air), and Jack Cashill. They had Neal Boortz on for a while, then got rid of him, but Neal is back on KMBZ after Mark Levin.
Personally, I've never really cared for Darla Jaye. I've tried listening to her, but she's just never "clicked" for me.

Oh, and did I mention that they fired Rush Limbaugh, before he was "El Rushbo" and nationally syndicated. He was a local host for a while.

I can only get two English speaking AM stations here locally (desert/mountains) and one is station 970 out of Palm Springs.
Several months ago, they changed up their format and took the one hour of Mark Levin off the air.
They still have Glen Beck in the mornings and Hannity.
I always thought it funny/odd for a city like Palm Springs that advertises itself as having over 50% of the adult population self declared as homosexuals and women with penis complexes, would air Beck and Hannity at all.
However with that said, I think the folks in Palm Springs are a hell of a lot smarter, more mature and way more patriotic than those scumbags up in San Fransicko.
KMBZ programming I have heard Darla Jaye and you will soon realize that Darla Jaye is no Mark Levin.

Mark Levin is brighter than any random 5 talk radio people combined.
Condescending? Only to people unwilling to learn -or callers with nothing to say but rehearsed talking points.

They weren't carrying him live in a 7-9 time slot central time.
In a market as large as KC I'll bet another station will pick up Mark live. Kind of a rinky-dink operation with only one headliner like Rush and back bencher O’Really.
To: Fudd Fan
You never read his posts on FR, apparently.
Look, I happen to agree with you all that this is probably a bad business move on the part of the radio station. My personal feelings about the man should not, and do not, have any affect on how commerce is supposed to work.

I can understand bumping Darla to make room for Glenn Beck who is long overdue in the KC lineup. As for bumping Levin to insert her program, I have reservations about that one. For a local host, she is ok, but having Beck on the air in KC is "one giant leap for mankind." The Great Oz Has Spoken.
