Food for thought

Posted on 07/04/2008 8:12:45 PM PDT by Shark38

Just wondering...

Where are all of the Hollywood celebrities holding telethons asking for help in restoring Iowa and helping the folks affected by the floods?

Where is all the media asking the tough questions about why the federal government hasn't solved the problem? Asking where the FEMA trucks (and trailers) are?

Why isn't the Federal Government relocating Iowa people to free hotels in Chicago?

When will Spike Lee say that the Federal Government blew up the levees that failed in Des Moines?

Where are Sean Penn and the Dixie Chicks?

Where are all the looters stealing high-end tennis shoes and big screen television sets?

When will we hear Governor Chet Culver say that he wants to rebuild a "vanilla" Iowa, because that's the way God wants it?

Where is the hysterical 24/7 media coverage complete with reports of cannibalism?

Where are the people declaring that George Bush hates white, rural people?

How come in 2 weeks, you will never hear about the Iowa flooding ever again?

Spike Lee did address the flooding in the midwest. Michelle Malkin covered it on her website.

What a nightmare that would be. Keep them away.
Everyone in the state is pitching in to help our neighbors.

A group from my church is heading to Eastern Iowa in the morning to help out where we can.
There are many examples of this.
But Iowans are no better than anyone else. This same thing would happen in 95% of the country.
It even happened in the 1989 San Francisco earthquake. People there, pitched in and helped their neighbors.

New Orleans just seemed to be a different case than most of the country.

What gets me is we can spend Billions on disasters overseas but the federal government can be a penny pincher on local disasters.

I think somebody from one of the old three networks went to Iowa and tested the complexion of the residents with a light meter, and discovered that they don’t qualify for victim treatment. I’m sure, however the decision was made, it was done objectively and scientifically.

now, that’s funny! good going.

the democrat plantation used katrina to attack bush.

florida and iowa got along.

there are people in florida who suffered through numerous hurricanes that still do not have their houses re-built.

In our small South East Texas Town, we suffered moderate to severe damage. Most was help needed for extended power outages, (ours was out for 32 days). We had people from all over that came to help. We had Mennonites from PA, Pentecostals from GA, Baptists from all over the South, the local Catholic Church set up a shelter. This is a typical situation. Look at Mississippi, which suffered extreme damage from Hurricane Georges and Katrina. MS just picked themselves
up and went on without all that whining.

What do we get for all our aid? According to the rats, they hate us.
